We signed up with Vodafone because they were offering a very competitive deal - 76Mbps for 18 months at £30 a month with no setup charges.

The speed was up and down initially but after a week or so it stabilised at a constant 76Mbps or thereabouts. So it needs to be given a chance to settle down.

The Vodafone Connect router is fine, but the wifi signal had been a little bit better with the BT Smart Hub. So we use the Smart Hub for wifi, by switching wifi off on the Vodafone router (button on side), switching off DHCP server on the BT router (in settings), and connecting both routers by network cable. Works fine, costs nothing.

    More than happy with Vodafone.

the most worthless piece of garbage i have ever come across, the connection is terrible, signal strength weaker than a prawn cracker, drops out 24/7, useless customer service departments, they do nothing to try sort out problems. i have to constantly restart the router to get the speed back up on it, only to have to do the exact same thing 5 minutes later. so basically don't even bother with them because they'll just take your money and screw you over. its so bad in fact we are actually taking out a broadband package with Virgin while still having to pay for this crap.

I really regret changing from Sky, just did so as I was upgrading my phone and there was no line rental. Unfortunately the service got a lot worst almost exactly after the 30 day trial period or I would have swapped back. For a couple of weeks it was dropping every few minutes but that at least has improved now. It takes my ipad quite a bit of time to log in every time I turn it on, which was instantaneous with Sky.

We swapped to vodafone after being with sky for a very long time, The lack of having to pay line rental was amazing and members of the family are also with vodafone for mobiles, which made it even cheaper.

Still only getting 54megs (on the 76 package at the moment but knowing this will go up over the next 10 days as they do tests on the line to make sure it can cope with the faster speeds. upload is at a full 20megs which is lush.

The router is fine, but we have our own access points for wifi and switch to power those access points so its just sat there as a router/gateway to the internet (anyone expecting amazing hardware from their isp are silly, all isps hardware is cheap when it comes to wifi in my book. not gone down once since the connection was moved over. loving the gb network connections to the rest of the LAN.

Seeing as its faster/cheaper than sky its a win win. Will leave another comment after a month or so.

Having read reviews on here, it was with some trepidation I decided to swap from BT Infinity to Vodafone. That said I think all the broadband providers, including BT, have just as bad reviews.
We swapped on 16th June and one month later have now received first bill. I can only recount our experience which has been faultless. I actually can think of nothing whatsoever to criticise. It all happened as it was scheduled to, our speeds are just as good as before, reliability is probably better. The bill was exactly as expected.
We have been Vodafone mobile customers for some years so get the lower rate. Now saving in excess of £400 per annum.
So 10/10, thank you Vodafone you got it right for us

Fantastic! Took the plunge, despite negative reviews and Vodafone's history of customer service. Switchover was effortless with slightly better speeds than I'd previously had with Sky. I get a consistent 79.6MB on their 76MB package so very happy indeed. Home broadband customer service is also reliable and accurate.

I getter better performance too from the router!

Terrible. I rarely leave reviews but this fibre internet connection has driven me to despair! The only positive thing that I can say about Vodaphone is that with the price increase they have allowed people to leave before their contract is up. I am jumping ship to either Sky or BT.

When first installed it was okay. Now it is terrible. The connection keeps dropping out and the wifi is terrible. Sometimes I can only get 10mbs when I am paying for the full fat fibre. When I do get the 10mbs I am happy as it means I actually have a connection for once. My wife is upset with the situation as she has had to up her mobile phone package to allow for more data as the wifi keeps failing.

STAY AWAY FROM VODAPHONE BROADBAND IF YOU WANT A STABLE INTERNET CONNECTION! (I am writing this article using my iPhone as a hotspot as the connection has gone again)

I will give them o stars. The worst customer service!!! My WiFi got cancelled one day for no reason, I wasn't even informed and for a month I struggled to get it back, but only got lied to. I had to also pay for it for a month when it didn't work. Will never use Vodafone again.

Appalling customer service. They do not value customers at all and treat you like you have to be grateful if they provide you with their service which we pay for! I made an appointment to have the line activated. I took a day off and none came to the property. I phoned and, as if nothing had happened, I was told that the appointment had been changed to a different date. Not only they did not inform me of the changes but did not apologise for my lost time and money and did not make any effort to give me an appointment that suited me. I had other similar issues with dongle broadband. Vodafone communication with customer should be rated 0. Expect the line to be cut off without warning, explanations or apology. Because t them the customer is always wrong! Pay someone else to get a proper service. I cancelled all my deals.

Initially everything was ok but then I've noticed that I keept loosing my connection. So I called Vodafone they got me to check everything around my router, no fault found. I was promised that IT will call me and resolve my problems. I got a TXT from IT that they've run checks on my line and all is good, no fault.
I called Vodafone and explained again that I keep loosing internet connection every day at least 2-3 times a day.
Vodafone response to that "it is expected to have up to 4 connection drop outs a day, it's not a fault"
So I asked them can I terminate my contract earlier as they are not providing the service I'm paying for. Vodafone said yes but I'll have to pay early termination charges because they are not at fault.
    Great service from Vodafone!!!!
Guess what? 2 days ago they've announced a price hike and everyone has 30 days to leave them with no penalty charge.
Keep switching guys, just NOT to Vodafone.
Reading about Vodafone broadband drop outs on Internet you'll see that there is an issue with their router and they will not fix it or even give you a replacement one.
    Absolutely terrible service.

Vodafone seem to get some stick here -
so thought i would post my overall positive experience.

Switched over from Sky Fibre last month (due to price as Sky had been fine).. rang Vodafone as an existing customer and said i would like to move to their fibre 76. Managed to get the connection fee waived, and save £2 pm as a Vodafone customer.

I had asked if i can use my own router (as my house if fully wired) which they confirmed was fine.... but i still had to pay £6.99 for them to post me a router i didnt want.

On day of switch over i lost broadband for a hour or so - so no big deal. I then had to ring them to request my connection username and password to use my own router - which was a bit of fun and games - as the supplied username and password didnt work.

PM'd them again - and they confirmed my username and password which matched what i had been supplied - they then asked what hardware i wanted to use - (ASUS DSL-AC68U) to which they said it wasnt BT approved so would not work!

10 mins on a couple of google forums i managed to work out the supplied username needed to have an extension added to it (just like sky did)

So now using my own hardware again - with decent wifi (unlike the supplied router) and have decent speeds - actually connects and sync faster than Sky - and i pay less p er month - so i am a happy customer!

I left BT to go to Vodafone after shockingly poor customer service. Little did I know that Vodafone was equally as bad! Their customer service team all seemed nice guys but none of them knew what they were talking about. I was given incorrect information by the operative I signed up with which would have cost me more money unless I hadn't recorded our call and could prove she had mis-sold their product. I had further calls to quantify emails that they had sent to me which gave conflicting information to each other and no one could explain the emails they sent to me. Calling their customer service is not a quick procedure and each of my calls lasted between 30 and 75 minutes - not in queues but talking to advisors who didn't know what they were on about or needed to get further information from colleagues about elements of their products that they knew nothing about. I am still in my 30 day "cooling off" period, and believe me I am leaving straight away. I have never encountered a service as bad as there one I left at BT but Vodafone are well up there with the worst! Don't even bother unless you like to get stressed out by emails they send which suggest they've signed you up for that you never requested and unless you can afford to spend hours on the phone to operatives who do not know what they are doing. You have been warned!!!

Although Vodafone have tried very hard to resolve problems they haven't been able to. Lots of issues with their own systems include online account. I wasn't aware that they consider 9 lost connections every 2 days to be acceptable. Unable to meet their own guaranteed speeds, call centre staff don't do what they say they will do in terms of calling back. Billing wrong and I have had to call Vodafone far to many times than I consider reasonable. Technical help was better in terms of customer service, but as already mentioned Vodafone were not able to resolve their problems and were not willing to try anything new to resolve the issue. Basically gave up or said they could only continue more of the same which hadn't worked previously!

Waiting for nearly five (5)!!! whole months to get super fast home broadband activated at the contracted speed in my home!!!! Endless call centre promises (I now know the songs by heart when you are in the queue!), made then not delivered on. There is a serious lack of agency and responsibility taking, in call centre responses. No staff seem empowered to actually do anything to help. You are just a can kicked down the road from pillar to post. It is incredible how they are swift to sign you up and take your money but when it comes to delivery it is BT Openreach or DPD the courier who are to blame. This has been the worst consumer experience in my entire life it makes me nauseous and I am considering further action this being the first step.

Can't fault it... Now with ofcom law they give you a guaranteed speed and speeds you can get up to... 73mbps constant... A few niggles with my first router but a call to them.. Based in Scotland no less... They were on the case.. Adjusted settings pushed a firmware not yet out didn't fix it so the sent me a new router which was up and running in 10 mins. Coming from sky which was poor and slow.. It's amazing.. Something to do with them not sharing bts data lines and having 2 of there own.. Keep up the good work Vodafone.

Don't usually write reviews but felt Vodafone are having a hard time here, so thought worth putting in a positive review for those who are not sure. I joined Fibre 76 this month, which took around 2 weeks from placing my order. All I can say is not one single problem from signing up to writing this e-mail. They kept me informed right the way through the process, equipment arrived well in time of connection and since being connected It's very stable (no disconnects) and I'm getting very good reliable speeds in both upload and download for a fraction of the price I paid with BT, who were absolutely useless in all aspects (Customer service being the worst) during issues I had.

Although I had my reservations because of the reviews on this site, I have no regrets switching and based on my own experience would recommend them.

This single star may, to some, appear a bit harsh; but I can guarantee these people have ever been foolish enough to use this company for broadband. When we first started using Vodafone as a broadband provider we were getting approximately the speed they had agreed to provide us with. Then after about 6-8 weeks we started to get very poor broadband speeds (between 0.4 to 20 odd Mbps. The 20 Mbps may sound pretty good to some of you, but we signed up for 38 Mbps! I have contacted their technical support (a bit of a joke as by definition 'support' would imply some sort of assistance!) and they blamed the low speeds on our setup at home. This 'setup' they refer to is the same setup we had when we were with BT, only they gave us almost 50 Mbps! We also get regular drop-outs of service (a few times per day). All-in-all if you are thinking of saving a few quid every month by going with Vodafone, I would think again. Because the savings would not be worth the infuriating hassle this incompetent company provides!

Swapped from BT infinity 2, as the vodaphone was a lot cheaper.

Had lots of connection issues especially on mobile devices.
Speed very good at router (66Mb/s) but achieving nothing like that on wifi linked devices (even when 50cm away)
Apps were not loading videos (BBC, Imgur etc)

Spoke with customer support, updated firmware, updated phone, turned off firewall - still no joy.

Websites can take 20 secs to load and regularly freeze, so a pretty much un useable

Decided to go back to BT as still within my 30 days trial.
    Cannot recommend

I didn't know what to get when choosing broadband so chose vodafone as I'm on pay as you go and tbh I'm glad I did everyone I know is either on sky or BT and there always moaning about something or other.
Don't knock until you try that's my advise.

I was concerned by all the negative reviews I'd read, but my experience has been great.

I switched to Vodafone after my previous provider increased the price. As a Vodafone mobile customer, they offered me 38mbps fibre for less than I was already paying for standard broadband, which was a great deal.

They cancelled my existing provider for me, which made the switching process very simple.

The switchover wasn't seamless as something went wrong on the scheduled day and the issue had to be referred to Openreach. But, as a Vodafone mobile customer, they gave me 50gb extra mobile data (with the promise of more if the problem couldn't be fixed quickly) so I could use my phone as a hotspot. This tided me over nicely until the problem was fixed in 4 days, without the need for an engineer visit.

Since then, I've been really impressed. I consistently get download speeds of at least 32mbps (despite my previous provider citing the phone lines into my building as an excuse for slow speeds). The connection has been very stable too.

The Vodafone router is a vast improvement on my old provider's. The Wi-Fi now covers every corner of my home, eliminating some annoying blackspots. Their app for controlling the router is really handy too.

I realise others have had worse experiences - but, based on my own in London, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Vodafone.

VF called me and offered me a deal that seemed to good to be true if I switched my broadband to them from Sky. Alas it was too good to be true! Every night, despite theoretically paying for unlimited BB my broadband either goes down all together or becomes very erratic. I paid £6.99 for a NOW TV Sports pass tonight and the connection dropped after 9pm. Pricks

Recommend going for another broadband than Vodafone, a f you go for Vodafone, you'll regret it, playing online, disconnects all the time, that's even with a wired connection, and it took about half an hour, just to send this, via my iPhone, as Vodafone, useless, my EE data runs faster

I signed up for Fibre 76 with a promise from the shop of 1 pound connection fee and a download speed of min 62 and max 76. A letter arrived from Vodafone welcoming me with the statement 'This letter and enclosed booklet make up your agreement with us,....' the letter states that the connection fee is 49 pounds and the speed is min 33.5 and max 45.41. Clearly these were not the terms agreed. A complaint using Vodafone's only available avenue which is e-mail has produced no response although the website promises a reply within 2 days if possible or 5 working days maximum. So far the period is 7 working days! A call back to the Vodafone shop was met with indifference, comments that everyone had the same complaint and that replies to complaints could take 7 MONTHS to get a reply. Having today received a text message from Vodafone welcoming me I rang the freephone number provided for queries, the polite English speaking call assistant explained lots of people were having the same billing problem and he could not comment on the download speeds promised, regarding the e-mail complaint not being answered he suggested I contact the complaints department by the only available means ie by e-mail to complain my complaint had not been answered - that seems a exercise in futility. NOT GOOD SERVICE VODAFONE - NIL POINTS

After being approached by Vodafone offering free line rental, we were tempted away from BT (who had consistently deliver 50mb+ without ever having an issue) purely as a money saving exercise. We like many rarely use the landline so free line rental made good financial sense. I opted for the 76mb premium service from Vodafone, this guaranteed 50mb. After install, we noticed that simple things like streaming Amazon and downloading from sky often wouldn't work due to poor speed, not some thing you'd expect with a promised 50mb. On checking, at best it would make 20mb, often as low as 12mb. We spent hours on the phone to tech support trying to resolve it for the 6 months we've had it, new routers,Ethernet cables, firmware updates, still never getting above 20mb. After a while Vodafone would go quiet on me and I've have to constantly chase them. So after the 4th BT open reach engineer visit I have given up, it appears BT are providing however it is getting throttled back by Vodafone and they simply can't / won't provide me with the promised / contracted speed I am paying for. They have offered me early release from contract and £49 compensation as they claim they are providing me with 76mb and it's not their fault that by the time it reaches me it is only 20mb. Essentially Vodafone are advertising and charging for a service they simply cannot provide. Shocked and appalled by the lack of customer service. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

I am going to eat humble pie here. I had a terrible experience with a Vodafone Store at Braehead (Glasgow), and I was extremely vexed by the lack of any response to an online complaint I had raised with Vodafone, within the 5 day window that Vodafone promises. I was on the horns of dilemma with cancelling an impending Vodafone Fibre Broadband connection despite the risk of losing a market leading offer on telephone and broadband connection. I gave vent to my feeling here on this site a couple of days ago. However, I decided to hold my nerve and go through with the switch over from BT, which happened yesterday night at midnight. Yesterday I got an email from Vodafone asking if I would ring up a number, which I did today. After taking a few more details, they confirmed that they had carried out an investigation around my complaint, and wanted to apologise for the poor service in this instance. As a gesture of goodwill, they waived one month's SIM charges.

As for the Broadband connection, I called up Vodafone to let them know that I was struggling with getting online even though the telephone line was working perfectly. It was explained to me that an engineer from Openreach would have to physically connect me up at the local cabinet, and to tide me over the short delay of a maximum of 1 day, I was offered 50GB of complimentary data allowance to tether our devices to. On the 4G network, this was blazingly fast enough. Earlier than expected, I've now got connected up within 9 hours of my morning call, and the speeds are properly eye watering - 74 Mbps download and 17 Mbps upload.

I am taking the trouble of correcting the record here for the sake of my own conscience. Good service is hardly ever reported, and bad service is hugely overrepresented in the feedback reviews. If my current experience with Vodafone continues, I would urge everyone to be sure they have good reasons not to move over to Vodafone. Their prices are simply too good to turn down.

I will of course report back here should I experience any instability with the connection speeds, or other unforeseen problems

Terrible service always cutting out and no way near what they said we would get. Spend a total of nearly 6 hours onto customer services getting no where and no results. It constantly drops out. We even phoned saying we would rather just leave the contract as not getting what was stated but the said they couldn't do that because their end it states we are getting the top speed. Absolute joke never ever use them again and I would advise anyone to consider a more reliable and helpful company. We have had trouble paying credit cards and bills because of this and still they didn't care the lady I spkoke to on the day didn't care at all about what we were saying only what they thought we were getting.

Absolutely rubbish. the signal drops and goes off all day long. Do not get this service. There is nothing fast about this service look else where. I was with Sky and got lured into thinking it would be an improvement but it is awful. Now I want to leave Vodafone want to charge me £100 which is a joke because it never worked. Avoid like the plague.

I have yet to receive my Broadband in a couple of days. I've had a terrible experience with staff at the Vodafone shop who sold me the broadband prospect. They did that on the back of me needing a replacement nano SIM for my new phone. The SIM story goes as follows, and I produce the complaint letter I wrote to Vodafone through my Vodafone online account. Even though a response was promised within 5 working days, none has materialised to date.

"I would like to complain about the cynical and flippant service offered by the Glasgow Braehead Vodafone store. I was offered a nano SIM to suit my new phone, and was told my service would change over to the new SIM in one hour. 24 hrs later, it hadn't. So I returned to the store as advised by the website chat service, and was given another SIM, and emphatically told that the new SIM would come on stream in 24 hrs. I was also given a mobile number to contact the store should there be problems. Nothing happened. I tried to contact the store many times, only to realise the phone number I was given was effectively unattended. I contacted a chat adviser on Vodafone website, and he took the details of my SIM, and was given a cast iron guarantee it would become operational in 4 hrs. A week later, nothing had happened. Today, I went back to the Braehead store to report the situation. The man who dealt with me twice previously was Steven, and it was he who dealt with me again. He seemed totally puzzled by it all. This time, he used a different method of swapping the SIM.\.\effectively logged on to another web page to do this. 15 minutes later, the SIM had come on stream. When asked why no one had responded to my phone calls, he told me the phone was kept in a cupboard, and pointed to the cupboard. He apologised. At this stage, I felt a formal complaint was in order as clearly I thought Vodafone ought to know about my experience. I asked to speak to the manager. He turned up, and started to employ patronising behaviours and patter.\.\.he patted me on my back, stuck and hand out for a handshake, and sought to know what the problem was. He knew what the problem was, as Steven had repeatedly gone in to confer with him about my situation. The sheer facetiousness of his behaviour was shocking. I asked how I might complain, and he advised me he would type my complaint out into the 'system', pointing out to her terminal screen. At this point, I had had enough, and was unprepared to waste my time over yet another wool gathering round. I have made two needless trips to the store in Braehead from Wemyss Bay (50 mile round trip each time), and I've had a week of disruption to the use of my new phone. I would like to ask you what you are prepared to do to deal with this poor service from Vodafone. On my first trip, I was also sold the Vodafone Broadband service, and the router has now arrived at my home. I am not sure what to expect from that, given my experience to date."

Having read the abysmal reviews here, and the similarity of themes, I am now going to cancel my impending Broadband switch over. Even at half price, this deal is not worth the trouble.

Recently I purchased Vodafone home broadband, and I strongly discourage people from committing the same mistake for the following reasons
    1. Connection keeps breaking intermittently. I could have assumed this happening in first week of connection, but I'm now in second month of contract, yet the line is not stable.
    2. Speed which is promised yet to be experienced. Contract commitment says 31 mbps but I'm yet to touch that mark. Forget 31, I'm not exceeding 20 mbps.
    3. Engineer visit for any troubleshooting the problem is chargeable.

Utterly abysmal. They cold call offering exactly the same speed, and that they will put in a second line, and give you double. They mis sell, tell lies, and fob you off with excuses. The hub wifi is pathetic, it doesn't even reach 12 feet away. Shocking service, shocking speed of 3mbps, when you're promised 13 / 14mbs. And when you complain they are forced to tell the truth. I can't abide liars!!!!!
