I left talk talk and BT to move to Voadaphone. Had great customer service when taking out the package. they did all the coms talking to my old provider.
3 days before as promised with tracking got the router plugged it in.

Used it with my old provider.

on the day of switchover was online by 7pm the same day.

Speeds were 36mbps down and 8mbps up

router updated itself and has all the bells and whistles.

for me being a technie i got CAT7 cabling around my house and i did upgrade my Master socket to a MK4 BT socket which does help a lot.
have an extended phone line to downstairs which has a filtered faceplate.

Overall cant complain about price and service.

Speeds can be a bit hit and miss but i always get the minimum speeds of 26 which is faster than before at peak times using speed test.

Ever since we have switched to Vodafone our broadband has been ridiculously slow, don’t want to help when you call them, even went as far to tell my husband he was lying.
    Won’t even pla6 Netflix.
Supposed to get 55 MB/S but is often 3-10
    Just not good enough.

Disgusting customer service. Endless hours spent on hold waiting for a stupid advisor only to have to answer 10x security questions. Then the person can't help and transfers me to the wrong department who then transfers me again. The guy then tried to charge £3pm for caller id which i refused and he was a right rude fool, I asked him to put me through to complaints he said no three times then hung up. Then on hold 30mins again and no luck so hung up and tried again and then their stupid machine doesn't work when you call and then called again and on hold another 10mins so far and waiting.... Utterly useless!!!!

The most awful company I have ever dealt with. Shocking customer service. I set my account up on the 15 jan and nearly 4 weeks later I still have to call them almost every day to get my wifi working. I am on hold for anything up to half an hour . They promise to ring back and never do. The stress this company have caused me during my house move !There is absolutely no communication between the staff there and I have to go through the whole story every time I speak to someone. I wasn't happy that there was no plug socket for the modem anywhere near a phone point, meaning having cables running all over my lounge. They seemed to think this was purely cosmetic. Then a week later when I ring due to having no internet again!! they tell me its because my modem is not close enough to the phone point!!! I rest my case. I would definitely not recommend this company.

Vodafone home broadband is the worst i had so far. Unfortunately when i moved flat, sky, which is so much better, could't be installed quickly, because it was christmas season. At that time, because i had mobile with vodafone, i took the risk to accept their broadband offer.
    I regret i didn't wait for Sky.
Vodafone internet at home is slow, crashes, doesn't reach the whole flat and is so unstable. Not to mention their customer service... i would never advise them to anyone

As others - Atrocious broadband, swapped from Sky for cheaper deal and signed up for 18 months. The service from Vodafone has been the worst service that I have paid for in my life, slow to mediocre speed, worse than average ping but worst of all by far the frequent disconnects - 1 or 2 every hour, unable to stream videos or play computer games because of he constant interruptions, I will never use Vodaphone for my broadband again for the rest of my days. Customer service 2 stars as they did organize OPEN-REACH who swapped my master telephone point and confirmed I should be getting high speeds. I will do in summer when I move back to SKY!

    SCAM ARTISTS!

Possibly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They lied to us by offering a service which they were actually not able to provide. It has been almost a month since the broadband was suppose to be connected and still no sign of it. I have spent over 30 hours on the phone to these people and spoken to 31 different vodafone employees who have not been helpful at all. In addition to this they also want to charge £51 for going over the data allowance they gave without any warning that we will be charged for. This company is an absolute joke. Save yourselves so much stress by just avoiding this company. I have been left with no option to get trading standards on this case because no compensation is being offered and they are remaining stubborn in not giving anything to compensate or help the situation. I seriously hope they go out of business.

Just switched from Plusnet using the porting facility, who while the broadband transfer went well, Vodafone managed to demonstrate great incompetence the porting process, whereby I lost my landline phone number in the transfer, - and yes the Vodafone customer services admitted my transfer included landline number porting. So thanks Vodafone, be sure to keep the loo rolls handy while everyone else wipes your asses putting it right!

I was tempted by Vodafone’s January offer to switch to what looked like a cheaper and faster service. Having tried to switch, it turned into a disaster, and I agree with others who say stay well clear. The customer service is truly awful. I had scheduled twice for them to give me a go live date and on both occasions they inexplicably cancelled the order without telling me. The first time sky had switched me off, so I was left without broadband for 3 days until I could grovel back to sky to re connect me. No matter how good the offer is don’t use them they cannot be relied on

Swapped from BT 2 days ago. I was a little worried before the move but it has been excellent. I'm saving £20 per month and seeing 20mb download speed compared to BT (retail) 14mb and a better WiFi signal throughout the house. BT tried to keep me and I smirked when they said 'we will never be the cheapest' ....silly really as they own and run the infrastructure (BT Openreach). By the way the worst company I've experienced is Plusnet (owned by BT) ...I feel very angry every time I see the advert claiming great customer service - I had to pay them £180 To get out of a contract that they couldn't deliver against to an acceptable level - awfull experience. RANT OVER but Vodafone 'have really done me proud!'

Having changed from sky due to poor service and high prices, we now have internet for £20 per month with 38 Mbps download from Vodafone. Today a BT engineer turned up because of a fault detected by Vodafone, all fixed and complete thanks to Vodafone that sky had not detected For 10 years. This was due to being wired wrongly not a fault. We now have 40 Mbps Internet and it is brilliant. You can't ask for better service than that.

All I can say is this... Absolutely amazing!

Moving from Talktalk, this service didn't have to do much to be good. Our Internet went live at 22:00 on the day of connection which was a minor hassle but nothing that our house couldn't handle as talktalk wouldn't even work! Customer service is brilliant, got through to someone in Newcastle which was nice and since it went live, I'm getting a solid 50mbps+ consistently and at a brilliant price!

The router and app are brilliant also

l was with BT, it cost a fortune with broadband and line rental...vodafone will saved us almost £100 every 3 months with its latest offer...i nearly didnt go ahead because of all the bad reviews but the customer service, the changeover, the router, the speed and reliability has all been perfectly fine, no problems as yet, and hopefully never! so there you are..risk it if youre thinking of saving money, we've got exactly the same service as bt gave us but a damn sight cheaper!!

Don't waste your time. I went through 2 online advisors, checking the package I was to order, referencing with the postcode etc. only for the payment to be refused. A 30 minute phone call later I'm told they couldn't even provide internet to my area, and it's my fault for not checking first - despite the back and forth via online chat. And apparently, it's also partly my fault for not realising that the link from a price comparison website does not take you to Vodafone's site, but a 3rd party site... Better off spending your money elsewhere.

Major hiccup with the router when BB went live took 3 days to solve sync problem and a new router had to be sent out. Customer service was excellent the people in the Newcastle call center were very friendly and helpful and spoke a language I could understand. As for speed i am paying for 38Mb and getting 37Mb which is a much better ratio than the 200Mb I was paying for with Virgin Media and getting 74MB

Been with Vodafone since July after being conned into getting it we was told we would get a minimum of 60mbps but the highest we get is 40 we was told we wouldn't have to pay for instalment but we got charged the internet speed goes up and down all the time with it dropping out completely at least 5-6 times a day the wifi range which we was told is one of the best on the market doesn't work if your more then 10 meters from it and it can only support one or two devices at a time when we phoned up to complain all they said was the guy who sold us the deal shouldn't of said any of that cause it's not true when we asked about leaving they wanted us to pay the full 18 months up front so now we are stuck with this terrible internet

Just appalling. I have changed to Carphone Warehouse but still with Vodafone. 8 days later and numerous calls later - each time being told it will be resolved quickly I am no further forward.
I just don't want to have anything else to do with them but have to as I want to keep my number. Presumably that is why they just don't care about their customers. I suggest that you use any other provider apart from Vodafone.

For nearly 3 weeks now our internet connectivity has consistently dropped. I couldn't submit a complaint on their online form because it required the user to enter a mobile number (so they could identify the a/c) but we don't have a vodaphone mobile number, just a landline.

I did an online chat and a member of staff called me, asking to unplug etc. Eventually I was told an engineer should come out so we arrange for the Friday. When the call was ended I realised no-one could be at the premises for the engineer so I went online chat and made arrangements for the following Monday.

An engineer still turned up on the Friday and it was sheer coincedence that a family member came home.

The engineer indicated it was the telephone call blocker that was the problem.

The problem continued so I detached the call blocker (which had never appeared to have been a problem for the last 6 years) but the problem continues.

It is now at the point where the connectivity is so unreliable as it is constantly cutting out.

I would stress to anyone considering using Vodaphone that no matter how good the offer may appear, DO NOT USE THEM!

What a hassle! Signed up on 2/1/18 in store. Advised earliest connection would be 18/1/18. Text and emails to confirm this. Stayed home 8am ‘til 1pm. No engineer. Called Vodafone to be told that Openreach had changed the date to 19th but not told them or me. Asked for an early appointment. Vodafone called at 8am to say engineer had started work and could be outside! Turned out to be a lie. He finally showed just after noon. So 2 whole mornings waiting in addition to waiting for the "signed for" router delivery. Was told it would activate at midnight. It didn’t. Called again. Apparently the router sent was not the router registered and that mattered. Told it would all be OK next day. It wasn’t. Apparently Vodafone employee had mistyped their own company web address, so router still not registered. Told to do a hard reset and wait for another hour. Finally it works! Speed as advertised but this is first day. I have never had so much hassle with any other broadband installation.

AVOID - BIG COMPANY TOTAL DISREGARD FOR PAYING CUSTOMERS
I had the worse customer experience when dealing with Vodafone. I was made to wait in for two days to be connected, 4 days later Vodafone admitted they had connected broadband neighbours flat and also failed to let my neighbours know resulting in them not being able to use wi fi. I spent 5 hours on the phone to customer services. I was lied to. I wrote to the CEO five times and I was lied to by the Directors Office. Waited over 2 weeks for a refund for broadband I did not receive The whole episode was disgraceful. AVOID

Moved from a cancelled 2 month disaster with BT. How OFCOM permits this shower to trade as a company is beyond me .The back office function is chaotic and the Indian call centre good for nothing. BT uses unacheivable line speeds to sell broadband . Vodafone changeover came and went with no issue .The promised speed is exactly where it should be and something never achieved with BT. Vodafone does not seem to traffic manage or prioritise . This maybe due to the massive capacity of the old C&W business fibre network Vodafone bought in 2012 .
I have very stable bb at the promised speed and my monthly bill has been halved. Yes Vodafone has had its problems but there is a will to improve unlike BT who just want your money.....

I have Vodafone Broadband for over 4 Months now, and i got to say it is by far the best Internet connection I have had in the last 15 years. I have been with Virgin, Sky, BT. they all give you slow connection to what they initially promise you. However, with Vodafone Broadband i am pleased that i made this chose. the internet during this 4 months i did not get disconnected once, and my speed has been solid between 60-79mbps which what has been promised By Vodafone.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. DONT BE SCAMMED BY VODAFONE LIES.
Joined Vodafone in December. Told no set up costs my subscriptions should be £25 per month. First bill came in at £39.24. Contacted Vodafone to be told lots of lies why this was. I have a mobile account with Vodafone and a Home broadband and phone account. So paid Vodafone broadband on the 15th jan. on the 18th jan arrived home to my broadband and phone suspended. Phoned Vodafone to find out the issue. These clowns had no idea what the issue was so was given more lies. I paid the broadband through the app on broadband. I finally found out the payment I made for my broadband they swapped the payment to my mobile account. Not authorised by myself. I said this is not acceptable the payment is for the broadband my mobile bill isn’t due till 31/01. They said sorry I cannot unrestricted the broadband unless you pay another £39.24. I said you are kidding. But no. I hope the owner of the broadband realise that Vodafone are using their money for their own gain. As Vodafone are only a third party for the broadband. Will be emailing the broadband company to let them know I’ve paid them and they need to claim this from Vodafone. Ombudsman are aware of this. AVOID THESE CLOWNS

    Avoid!!
Problems with the set up and then direct debit has failed repeatedly. I paid them by BACS as it as charity and they couldn't find the payment. I'm minded to try and cancel early. 0/10 for customer service. The people are trying their best with systems that are clearly not properly set up

We signed up to them and the internet literally didn't work. Was cutting out constantly. Can't download anything on sky. Nothing worked at All! We called them and decided to be upgraded to fibre broadband they said it'll be done within 11 days. 11 days came and went and nothing. Internet wasn't working at all now. So my husband spoke to them on live chat. And they said it would be another 2 weeks! No reason why. So after been told 11 days it would actually be 25! I tried calling. They said I'd be on hold for 1-2 minutes, 45 minutes later still no one available to talk to and still on hold! We are self employed and do a lot of our work online at home. We have decided to leave them, and join someone reliable, as we don't trust it be done in 2 weeks as they've already lied.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Diabolical signal and shoddy “help” from customer service. 5 months I have been complaining about my connection and STILL waiting for a new router to be delivered (4th time lucky hopefully this Wednesday but I’m not in the least bit confident). I’ve taken days and days off work waiting in for deliveries and engineers and probably a solid week on the phone and web chats but still can’t watch one episode of Netflix sat 4m from the router.
Don’t put yourself through the stress of Vodafone broadband
I think I’ve lost half a head of hair from the stress this has put me through re doing/handing in assignments.

Do not punish yourself by signing up to Vodafone.
    Stay sane - avoid totally.

Got a speed problem or similar? Go to the BT Wholesale Speedtest.

Run a complete test don't stop until it is finally complete all pages about 3 or 4 of them in total.

Do the test again and again until it shows true low speeds you are getting. Sometimes it won't show correct true also.

It will and you then have proof of your connection. Next read and copy exactly what it says on the final page it will make sense when you are there.

This will fix all speed problems and is the only know valid way to do so today for internet problem issues.

Always make sure your setup is correct wiring and all. Go as far as replacing phone socket to router wire if have one also. So you will not be charged for any problems you may have.

Make sure router is set exactly as customer service scripted call will tell you to do when call ISP.

    * IMPORTANT * IMPORTANT * IMPORTANT *
Make sure you test using only wired connection. Not using WI-FI at any time for any test. Since WI-FI can be an issue. Test first with wired connection yourself with WI-FI totally disabled (turned off) in the router. Failure to do this may cost you if found later a WI-FI issue.

As long as the speed is correct. The Speed problem with WI-FI will then be known. Ask ISP if router has known WI-FI issues if not then buy and install your own router. Ensure it is a router that has been tested by OpenReach do internet search for OpenReach Router Tests or ask ISP before purchase or use another router. If use another router you should be able to do so using connection settings from current router including logon details etc.

This is the best way forward to correct Speed and Line problems. Don't assume it is always the ISP or network issue know it is not an issue with your router and wiring.

ISPs will no doubt read this and may try use some of this against you such as above. But with details here there will be no doubt where problem lies and what you do about it. This is all simple ABC.

If you still have a problem then use the 30 days and get rid of the ISP. Do tell others of your issue here. Then will have a more complete true picture of UK ISPs.

I have rang Vodaphone and I would agree what some of you have said they are incompetent and unskilled. Vodphone problem begins and end with it's staff and in-house staff structure until that is fixed steer clear of Vodaphone for anything.

Problem for any company old staff always hold onto old ways any newly trained staff will be turned by old staff ways soon after 'old rot remains'.

For any company it is not worth spending any money on new staff and training them all the new ways. Unless any company clears all old staff from top down first. Not until then will any company evolve to be better than they were previously. This basic ABC applies to any company anywhere.

Finally the Ombudsman Resolution etc for UK Broadband. Pitiful incompetent mainly because the rules they use have huge loop holes in them.

Like this have a problem ISP then deletes to make them good Ombudsman only knows what ISP send them. Anything that has been deleted even if temporally. Is never seen by the obudsman so they will never know the true picture. How many people will have ability to record all their calls to ISP from home phone. Call with a mobile then always record all calls to ISP you never know when you need them to prove to ombudsman complete details. In doing so ombudsman may then fine heavily such bad ISPs. This loop hole is well known in industry but is not known by the public.

5* stars for this info. This info should be everywhere on this site and always easily seen. I post this nowhere else lets see how intelligent the site owners are with this information. Maybe someone should copy it else where also to other sites.

Completely execrable. Cut us off from our existing ISP three weeks early, and were unable to connect us to themselves.

Told us that it could take up to three weeks to resolve.

Numerous chasing phonecalls resulted in assurances that the broadband order was being placed again and the provisioning department would ring us back.

No one ever rung us back. Rang them again (after 3 weeks of chasing them), the day after the original go live date, to find that in fact the order hadn't been placed.

    We cancelled at that point.

Rarely have I experienced such terrible customer service A byzantine organisation of many departments, whose sole incentive appears to be to transfer you to someone else, rather then solve your problems. Avoid them like the plague.

THE WORST BROADBAND COMPANY ON THE PLANET!

We had an issue with our broadband connect for months, were calling Vodafone customer service every second day but they were super incompetent! Kept redirecting us, sending us routers (when our problems were clearly not with the routers). The final straw was today when my partner skipped work to wait for an engineer who never came. These clowns actually had the nerve to say the engineer was there the day before when neither of us were home. We changed service provider immediately.

    NEVER USE VODAFONE!

Constant dropouts since signing up in November. Naively allowed them to arrange an engineer and send a new router, went over the cooling off period and now stuck with them for 16 more months. Loses connection for a few minutes about once an hour, disrupts our streaming and working remotely from home, and the boys' gaming. Much happier with Sky before them, slower but almost never suffered dropouts. A shame as I really rate them as mobile phone providers, been with them 16 years.
