Have fibre broadband with speed up to 38mbs and only reaches the high teens, not good enough.

We've tried most ISPs over the years (TalkTalk, Sky, EE, BT and now Vodafone, and we have had by far the best experience with Vodafone. The most important issue for us was internet speed, (particularly upload) as we upload videos to YouTube as Kiducation UK. We had major issues with BT at our current address - even on fibre the best we could get was 20Mb/s download and 0.4Mb/s upload, meaning 10 minute videos had to be uploaded overnight. BT insisted that this was due to the cable from the exchange to our premises, and that those were the best speeds we WEre going to get as all the other providers available to us use Openreach infrastructure (we live in an area where Virgin Media is not available).

We switched away from BT to Vodafone due to the horrendous customer service, not expecting anything in the way of improvement in speed given what the engineers and advisers at BT has told us. We were shocked when the engineer arrived and plugged us in to 30Mb/s download, 6Mb/s upload, Vodafone fibre. This has been a massive improvement, and allows us to consider some opportunities that we thought would not be available to us (online tutoring for example) due to poor upload speed.

Please do not fall into the trap of assuming that BT will give you better service because BT Group owns several of the other providers (EE, Plusnet) and also the phone lines via Openreach. For us this was not the case, and we get much better speeds from Vodafone despite the fact that they utilise some of the Openreach infrastructure. The customer service provided by Vodafone has restored some of our faith in ISPs after terrible experiences with BT - it got to the point where we had to record all calls with BT customer support to prove what had been said previously, after BT reps "couldn't find a record of that conversation on their system'.

    TL;DR
Speeds much better than BT for us
Customer service faultless so far, infinitely better than BT

Please don’t! Been complaining since July. Dropped connection speeds at 12mbps despite being on top package. They can’t fix it but keep closing my tickets as resolved. It’s not resolved!!!! Will be buying another and let this lapse as cheaper than cancelling.

Utterly incompetent. Avoid at all costs. Have been trying for almost 8 weeks to switch to Vodafone broadband. Repeated delays, excuses, service inexplicably cancelled. Latest switch due for the 5th November so I called to double check and ask where router was. Told it would be dispatched in time. Not received and then received s text saying there was s technical problem that would delay the switch. Would that be the lack of a router?!! Told them to cancel. Going to Sky instead.

I haven't even started my broadband yet and I am already annoyed. They changed the install date, the day before it was meant to happen with no explanation, when I rang up to ask why, the guy just stuck me on hold to get rid of me.

Worst provider ever. Never ending problems, no one needs to know how many times i've been on the phone to them. They can't provide me the minimum guaranteed speed and can't stop the wifi from dropping every 2 minutes. Avoid if possible

Good customer service. Awful broadband though.

I’ve been with BT for 2 years on 72mb fibre and average 65mb. However, Vodafone had a great deal on so I swooped to them. Big mistake. I am now getting between 10-30mb. 4K doesn’t work very well with Netflix, even HD buffers sometimes.
If I am paying for a service I would expect to get the service not half a service. Not impressed so far.

Incompetent and Dishonest. Frequent disconnections. Speed less than "guaranteed". Now the line has stopped working completely. They don't know when or if they will fix it. They couldn't be worse.

I have had terrible experience using Vodafone as my mobile phone provider. I supposedly have a contract with them, however, the bills and the payments they take out of my credit card ALWAYS far exceed the amount agreed at the start of the contract. They are literally stealing my money. When I try to contact them, there is hardly anyone to speak to. I get promised refunds to my bank account, however, I have NEVER received a refund. I would not recommend this dishonest company to anyone. STAY AWAY FROM VODAFONE!!!

    TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Fibre optic broadband keeps constantly going off-line! Deeply frustrating! Router gives off a very weak signal, and speed of 38mb (a joke) are in reality less than 200kb!

Complete and utter GARRRRBBBOOOOOO. Hands down the WORST isp I have ever had the misfortune to have. Claim to be providing me with 27MB/s download speeds, when in reality they are barely capable of providing more than 300 Kb/s. Spoken to their customer support many times (who lack basic English skills) who give me the same response that they claim will fix their awful service but to no surprise, it doesn't. Constantly disconnecting, unable to hold a stable connection (when it does finally connect), unable to keep up with literally any other isp. Would NOT recommend Vodafone...they should have stuck to phones smh.

Vodafone is the worst organisation I have ever dealt with. They misrepresent the truth; fail to do what they are asked to and show the highest level of incompetence I've ever seen. Failed to cancel the broadband or landline with my previous provider (yet said they had); failed to request retention of current landine number (yet said they had and it had been rejected). Each agent / advisor gives different information. Only resolved when threatened to cancel contract and claim outstanding bills from previous providers through Courts. Only positive is that the broadband has been reliable with no outages, but has dropped from 38 to 20 in 12 days.

Worst internet ever. I literally do not even know how Vodafone is even allowed to have a broadband. Spent 30 minutes trying to load things up. Games I download that only take around an hour takes a day to download. Simply unreliable, the speed is extremely slow I do not recommend Vodafone. Customer Service is okay I guess but they end up never helping. Any recommendations?

I must say I was a little apprehensive about changing my broadband supplier. However I must say that I have been pleasantly surprised with service I have received. I placed my order online a few weeks ago and chose the date in which I wanted to switch. I was then kept informed regularly by email of my order. My router arrived a few days before the switch with no problems. On switch day I came home at 2pm not expecting the internet to be up and running at that time as I was told it could take up until midnight. However it was already switched over and ready to go. I had a minor issue with the router password which was swiftly dealt with by the customer service team. Overall I am very happy with the experience. The online chat is also very good and is readily available if you have any queries. The speed of the internet seems absolutely fine so far with no drop-outs as yet. So yes very pleased I switched

Switch went without a hitch yesterday about 2 weeks after I placed the order on line. £24 for 76 mbps is great value. Nice router and the mobile app is v useful too. So far excellent after the nightmare of last provider which we are still awaiting refund from. Too early to give 5* all round but impressed!

Absolutely terrible service from Vodafone from start to finish.
Switched to Vodafone broadband and selected an installation date. A few days later get an email with a different date for installation that has been given to me without checking.

I can't do the date so call and request original date.

Nothing happens for three days. So I call back to be told original date is unavailable. So agree a second date.

Called back next date to be told second date isn't possible and offered new installation date 12 days after original selected date.

So I cancelled the whole thing. And you'd think that would be the end of it. Receive a text saying I've cancelled. And then emails about services I've added... And a bill.
The bill is for services before the installation date.....

    What a bunch of idiots.

    Terrible terrible terrible service.

DNTWABP. had a week. On first day it went off after an hour. Took an hour to get through to call centre, then They could not resolve issue. Called back the next day, another hour on the phone. Told them to cancel the contract. Got home from work and it was working, so another hour to get through to tell them to leave it on instead which they said they would. A week later and they disconnected it themselves. Another hour on the phone, a half hearted apology and told they will "email" their connections team
And switch me back on in THREE days! Three days later and it was still not on so just waited 2 hours for a call back and been told I shall have to wait another 3 days. Almost a week without internet. The customer service is shocking, the advisor was patronising telling me it was my fault for asking to disconnect. I told him to re-read his notes and that it should not of been switched off. Rather than apologise the advisor decided to get in to an arguement with me. Horrendous company, with long call queues as they will not pay to staff the call centre. Staff do not know how to treat customers like customers.

The most appalling service I have ever experienced. Spent over half an hour on the phone ordering. Received the router and waited ten days for the activation date. Date came and passed with no contact. Phoned Vodafone and was eventually told that contract had been cancelled without informing me. After initially being told this was because fibre was not available for my address several calls later I was eventually told all was due to their operator typing in my postcode incorrectly. My choice thereafter was to wait 72hrs for them to reinstate the order and then wait another 10-14days for the activation OR to register as a new customer spend 30-40mins on the phone giving all my details again and then still wait 10-14 day for activation. At this point it was easier to go with another company having wasted a total 4 hours on the phone.

vodafone offered to change my contract from BT to themsevles, taking care of everything without any down time at all, i'd never be left without connection were their exact words.

My business has now been without a telephone or internet connection for over 48 hours and I am nearly 3 hours into my calls with them (they conveniently disconnect) and they still haven't found the problem.

Avid at all costs!! I have lost untold amounts of money because of them.

Half way through a 18 month contract and multiple engineers later. We are still getting less than half minimum speed if it even works at all!
Vodafone keep telling me there is a fault between the fibre box and the router. I know this to be false as technicians they have sent have tested the line with me there and shown me the results as they receive it. These results show as NO FAULT ON LINE!

Got the 60 meg deal getting speeds of average 25 meg. TV keeps buffing videos on tablets same as tv. End off contact I'm leaving.

Really annoying switch to VF. First of all they changed our number which we had had for 40 years. I rang to complain and was told that they could sort in 3 days. I then rang again shortly after to clarify another issue and was told it would take 4 weeks to get our old number back but no guarantee. Fortunately the first person was right! My first bill was just for a couple of days use so no surprises there. The second bill had over £40 of call charges despite having asked for the £8 anytime calling feature. Their website was down - not an unusual occurrence. Spent half an hour waiting for someone to answer in their call centre and gave up. Eventually got a response from an overseas call centre. They said that my order had not stipulated anytime calling and although they would add it to my contract there was no way that they were going to refund the overcharge. Also be aware that their "Manage my account" app is only designed for mobile use - it was difficult to get this set up as a broadband user. I am locked in now - I hope things get better.

Had this broadband for a year, and I have got to say it is the most unreliable and slowest internet I have ever had. Never had problems like I have had with Vodafone. My internet drops out 3-4 times a week and I lose connection. I play online gaming a lot and it's a pain and when streaming Netflix or YouTube it buffers, which for this day and age and these 'supposed' speeds it's utterly ridiculous. I've had engineers out to check my phone line etc but no improvement. The customer service is pretty much non existent. The usual 'we will check your phone line' and 'your speed at your router is what it should be'. I'm lying for the Up to 76MBps broadband, and use a hard wired connection for what I can, and I receive at max 20MBps download with 5MBps Upload which is daylight robbery. I have patiently waited until this contract ended and I will not be renewing with Vodafone. My parents experience the same issues, when they also have never had any issues until switching to Vodafone.

Avoid them like the plague, absolutely dreadful broadband service, and you would think they would provide a great service after being fined for bad customer service not too long ago. I highly do not recommend this broadband. Terrible experience.

My wife and I have just moved into our first home and the first thing I wanted to get up and running was the internet as I know this is usually what takes the longest.

I did some researching online and price comparing for fibre Broadband and Vodafone along with Talktalk were by far the cheapest available. My mother has Talktalk fibre and I really can't say a bad word about them but what sold me to choose Vodafone was the current offer they have on where you can choose a free gift. I chose the Wireless speaker which I've wanted to buy for a while so it was a no brainer for me.

I was given a date for an engineer to come round and fit a new line as ours had been cut completely by I presume the people living at the flat before us.

The engineer called me 15mins before arriving just to let me know he was on his way. He was very friendly and the work carried out was very neat so no ugly cables running up and down the walls. He finished the job within an hour or so and said once the router has turned on and done what it needs to do it should all be up and running.

5 hours later and we still didn't have any Internet so I decided to call Vodafone just to check this was normal as I was told it can take up to midnight for the line to be activated.

I called at about 7pm and there was a que of just under an hour so I decided to use their call back service. I received a call back from a lady who was really brilliant from start to finish and she told me that something needed to be done their end to get our internet up and running. I stayed on the line for about 15mins whilst they done the necessary bits their end, she then explained how to reset the router and then said to leave it to work through it's boot up process and to try again in half an hour to see if it was working. She also promised a call back in an hour to make sure it was working.

Within 20 mins or so our Fibre broadband was all up and running and straight away with the speeds we was told we would get. I was called back as promised too just to make sure everything was up and running which I thought was fantastic as usually companies will promise a call back and you'll never hear from them again!

Other than the minor delay it getting it up and running so far I really don't have a bad word to say about Vodafone's broadband service.

Along with the best price available there is no traffic shaping meaning no slowing you down during peak hours, no download limits, possibly the most helpful and friendliest customer service I have ever used and a free wireless speaker worth £180!!

Vodafone have clearly put a lot of effort and resources into getting their broadband right and competing with the big boys and it most definitely shows.

It's early days but so far I have been nothing but impressed and won't hesitate to recommend you to everyone I know!

I have had Vodafone Broadband for over nearly two weeks now, and I can only say it is great. I switched from BT Infinity which i've had for a number of years since it was first released.
The switch over was painless, I was told to plug the router in before 8am on the morning of the switch over. I plugged it in at 6:30 am , and the service was already live.
Speed is better than BT, 76m line and am getting 74m+ was only managing 68m on BT.
I was using my own Netgear router with BT as the home hub is one of the worst routers I have ever used and asked if I could again , I was told that was not possible, so I have run there router since install and have found it to be as good as my own.
Remember to switch the channels from auto to another one, I use wifi analyzer on my phone to see the best channel to use, this removes any problems with wifi clutter from other peoples routers. Changing channels is simple with the Vodafone Router's simple web interface.

Signed up Home Broadband with Vodafone. It is supposed to go live on 13 Sept but didn't happen. After multiple calls with Vodafone, they top me up 50GB on my mobile, so that I can still use hotspot to work with my laptop. Vodafone said the broadband should go live after midnight. Next day still the same, no broadband. Call Vodafone again, the support staff said there was a technical fault on the line that OpenReach needs to resolve and it won't get fixed until 18th Sept!!!! So Vodafone left my family stranded without internet at all for another 5 days!!! The live chat staff ensured me that I can collect a USB mobile dongle from a nearby Vodafone store to plug into my broadband router for the time being.

So I went to a store to collect it. The staff said you can't get it free. They have to put a £20 charge on my account and sign up a new £30 monthly contract for that. Then cancel within 30 days after the broadband is fixed and get a £20 refund back.

Despite endless hours (and many more in the future) of trying to sort it out and none of this is my fault (well, apart from signing with Vodafone Broadband), THEY UPSALE MY PROBLEM.

All the customer service teams were trying to be helpful and polite but there solutions actually bring more hassle.

Since I am going from a normal broadband to fibre which I imagine it requires proper technical upgrade at the exchange box, I would recommend anyone to sign a 12 months fibre contract with the broadband company which actually owns the physical line and then switch to another cheaper fibre provider after that.

I was just after fast, inexpensive 'no frills' broadband and that's exactly what I got. I went for Unlimited Fibre 76.

No hassle, the change over worked when they said it would, nice router. No hassle and day one it was 4 times faster than my old sky instantly getting 65 mbs which I suspect will hit 70+ mbs once its settled in.

At last, a 21st century internet connection at a very reasonable cost.

Never had to call customer service, which is fine by me.

I'm not impressed easily but this has been a great experience (so far!)

Rubbish do not even think about getting these in. Organised setup for 8-9-17, its not 13th and still no internet. They had no problem cancelling my old ISP but getting this one working is not happening. After being on hold for hours (no joking) they try and fob you off with, its Openreach not us. Rang again 2 hours to be told my date has been changed to the 25th, well thanks for updating me on this and you can shove that date. Then was told the 13th is a go and I am so lucky!!! Not really when I should be surfing with a 50Mbps download right now but currently getting 0. I read the bad reviews and still gave them a chance and i'm sure tomorrow when its not working i'll be cancelling and trying Plusnet

I originally had sky broadband 17mb and decided to give Vodafone a try due to their deal on he 38mb broadband with a free £200 gift. I received the router in the post and plugged it in and was told my activation date was the 7/9/17.

Towards the evening on 7/9/18 the service was still not active so I called Vodafone. After waiting an hour I got through and the Vodafone person said just wait until midnight. The next day 8/9/17 I called Vodafone again as the service still wasn't active. I waited again for an hour and got through to someone who said he would need me to reset the router by pressing down the reset button. I did this and then he said it'll work in 30 minutes. Obviously it didn't.

So I again called Vodafone and waited another hour on the phone before being connected. The lady said that I needed to download the Vodafone app on my phone and then id be able to set up the router via the app. She then proceeded to say 'is there anything else I can help you with' at which point I told her that she will need to stay on the phone whilst I download the app as it takes an hour to get through to someone and so far nobody seems to know what they're doing. I then downloaded and opened the app which of course didn't work with my router. The lady on the phone said she will just need to check something and put me on hold. She then came back and said that actually you can't activate the router via the app. So in other words she was about to fob me off again. She then proceeded to set up my router from her end. After she did this she told me my service will be live in 1 hour. So I then waited an hour, and guess what? obviously it didn't work.

So then I called back again and waited again for an hour and finally got through to someone who then actually did activate the broadband.

The broadband was initially fast. I had the 38mb package and was getting speeds of 33mb. Towards the evening the speeds dropped to between 1 and 2 mb. The homepage (which is google) also stopped loading and occasionally all internet services would just stop.

So I called Vodafone who told me to change the channel on the router. I did this and the same problems occurred. That was their only suggestion and they weren't sure what else to do.

My previous broadband was with sky ADSL 17mb and I got 17mb as their router is fantastic. The Vodafone router will just drop off and the worst thing is Vodafone do not allow you to connect your own router.

The only routers they accept to be connected to their broadband are open reach approved routers of which there is a very limited list of very specialist routers costing around £500 each.

Luckily you get a 30 day cooling off period so Ive now cancelled Vodafone. I don't know how I would have coped for 18 months with Vodafone broadband. More than likely I would have had to just pay the early termination charge (which would have been massive) just to get a working broadband service.

Do not touch Vodafone. They are voted the worst company for customer satisfaction for a reason. Ive now moved back to sky who answered my call in just 5 minutes as opposed to Vodafones 1 hour. I'll never make the mistake of moving to Vodafone for any of their services again.

I am on a 78mbps Unlimited Fibre connection since mid of August 2017. I am quite satisfied with Vodafone. The minimum guaranteed download speed for my location is 55.86Mbps, and I have checked actual speed throughout the last week and the speed is consistently coming between 55 to 56 mbps (speedtest.net was used for checking speed). Upload speed is between 17 to 19 mbps. Earlier I was facing problem with Wifi and I contacted Vodafone regarding this at 9 PM, and my problem was quite competently solved by a customer service agent (Amit). The problem was in my computer itself. I wasn't expecting to get in contact with an agent so late at night, let alone getting my problem solved, but I was pleasantly surprised that Vodafone's 24/7 customer service actually works!

im moving again because of slow speed. The misconception that is going around it is the isp to blame for slow speed. It is the line to you're house that is the problem. You may be on 50 year copper that is not fit for purpose be connected other homes via a junction serving homes as well. This was my problem Openreach had to replace all cabling to the house including the underground cable to the cabinet. Result no change whatsoever. BT and Openreach claims of up to 76 Mbps are exaggerated and the companies that supply broadband have a sold a lot of nonsense. Time to force BT to uprade its infrastructure it is not fit for modern fibre use.

Moved to Vodafone 76mb package from BT Infinity 2. BT's obfuscated billing drove me away. Vodafone package is £30/mth for 18 months, no additional line rental - simple! Switchover was seamless. There was a little variation in sync speeds initially, but this has now settled down. I have a slightly slower sync than I was getting with BT, but never any disconnections. I am using the supplied router for DHCP and modem purposes only, everything comes in through a separate wireless access point. Some people have reported that the Vodafone router can't handle more than a few wireless connections - I have had no such issues. I contacted Vodafone customer services via live chat to get my authentication details, which they will provide if you quote an Openreach-approved router that you want to switch to. Now I'm using the Vodafone router as stated, this is no longer required, but good to know you can use your own equipment if preferred. Happy customer so far.

Haven't been able to use my wifi since 7pm tonight , conveniently starts working again bang on midnight. Vodafone have told us on a call that the fault is in our home line but never had an issue before & they never picked up on this 'faulty line' when they checked when selling us this awful service only a month ago. Their solution to this problem? Pay £200 for an engineer to come out & repair the line on a house we don't own and are moving out of in 2 months. They took an hour on the phone to come to this conclusion and we were charged £25 ish for the privilege. So now we are stuck with a line that drops out constantly, runs slowly & are paying for nothing until we move & hope this house doesn't have a 'faulty line' too!
