I only changed to Utility Warehouse because of the bundle deal with my electric & mobile. My provider before was fantastic & I didn’t want to change. I’d also tried UW years ago & it was awful then but thought hopefully they’d be better now. No, awful signal dropping in & out constantly, was told there was something wrong with the wall socket in the house (it worked perfectly 2 days previous with Sky). I’ve cancelled & gone back to Sky.

This broad band is absolutely shocking, I changed to UW broadbands with the promise that it would be faster and cheaper but ever since I changed all I have had is problems, and hoping it would improve I upgraded the internet package I was on and tbh it’s even worse than the lower package, constantly buffering, lagging. I was on my own in my house with only 1-2 devices connected and I was lagging all over the place on my PlayStation, and stuff was really slow on my phone.

Excellent customer service, best I’ve ever experienced. Services are very cheap & reduced further with a cashback card. Far superior Compared to my previous preoviders...... Sky, O2 & talk talk. Recommended

Have just joined Utility Warehouse 3 weeks ago, have had no internet connection since joining up. Could not connect to internet so went through troubleshooting with them, but did not work. They sent me a new router but still does not work. Went through troubleshooting again but still no luck. They have now advised me to take my computer to a computer shop to get it fixed. There is no problem with my computer, I am currently using it at my parents house and can log on to their internet absolutely fine. Plus the computer worked perfectly until I plugged in their router. Am not happy as I have been made redundant and need to use computer to look for a job but cant do anything :(

There seems to be 2 sorts of review on here for UW, 1 or no stars across the board with complaints about constantly dropping broadband, poor customer service, exit fees and rising bills - or 5 stars across the board saying how wonderful they are. Not saying that the 5 star reviews are from UW partners, but I am firmly in the best avoided camp for all the above reasons

Broadband is forever cutting out. When you call the customer service team all they suggest is getting a new router every time. If your connection fails between Saturday 16:30 and Monday 7.59 then you're completely buggered because they are closed, no out of hours provided.
We upgraded to ultra last year and no difference than before.

Moved to UW from Virgin as was paying over the odds and virgin cust service was pants. UW cust service is UK based and often im speaking to a human within 3 rings!! Broadband speed is good, got three kids and we can all stream and video call at once. The router has 5G aswell as traditional cable, so can put different devices on the separate connections. Often virgin or cable goes down in th street , and I can still continue to work/stream/video call using the 5G network on the router, brilliant!

Absolutely terrible! Words cannot describe the awfulness of this broadband. I am unwilling to play xbox with my friends because the router that was recommended does not give half of the percentages I need to play. All of my friends pay exactly the same for their broadband and they never have problems wether their is 1 or 12 in the house all using wifi. Myself on the other hand, can't play if there is 2-3 people using the broadband. The only time the wifi ever works or even satisfies is when I'm home alone. I can't even watch youtube without my video bufferning for 10 miniutes or so. We've tried fitting ethenet cables from the router to the xbox, which is a very well known way of dealing with poor connection, yet it makes absolutely no difference. I would not recommend this terrible broadband to anyone because it will vener give what other broadbands give. I would recommend any other broadband apart from this one. I will change broadbands ASAP with no hesitation. Terrbible experience with Utility Warehouse broadband.

We did not realise that one of our e mail addresses was not portable, and have had to pay the previous provider to keep the address, after e mails stopped arrive. Advance notice of this as an issue would have been helpful, as its taken a while to sort.

Worked fine for 7 months then stopped one day, contacted utilities warehouse and they told us the only way to get it back was to upgrade to fiber pay an extra £5 a month and have to extend the contract by 18 months. We changed supplier because I didn't want to pay more and there were cheaper options available with other suppliers.

Our Household have been with UW for nearly 3 years now, and I am not satisfied. They have sorted phone problems a few times, but the bill payers are regularly stung with unexpectedly high bills, which are not itemized or adequately explained. All they can do is promise a temporary reduction, followed by a later Hike in Bills.

The internet is terrible. Regularly freezing and cutting out. Just today we were fitted their shiny new Router, and so far no fewer that two apps on our Smart TV have stopped working. BBC IPlayer won't load at all and ITVPlayer cuts out in the Middle of programmes and won't reload.

All I can assume is that the router cannot cope even with basic streaming. Dread to think what it will be like with Amazon video.

Absolute scandal of a company. Have just left them and they are trying to bill me for another full month of services that I no longer have provision or contract or services for. They have also tried to add a £10 disconnection fee! Absolute scandal, they are child of TalkTalk so no wonder they are a nasty evil provider who do not believe in letting customers leaving and will do anything it takes to grab extra money off you. Best advice - never sign up to them in the first place - thieves and scoundrels.

Ive been with this company for two years. Last year they sent me a large bill for only gas. I called them about the leaking meter and when they sent the engineer they engineer told me that they would sort out the problem. They replace my meter and then they told me that they couldnt erase the large sum of money for the gas usage and they told me they would monitor the amount of gas i would spend over 12 months. The sum after the 12 months was very low compared to the original bill. So i told them i would pay around 50 pounds a month however they told ms they made a desicion to make me pay 350 pounds a month. I was shocked. They wouldnt listen to me and kept pressing on that i had to pay more than i needed to. This company is dodgy and a rip off do not sign up with them at all. The costumer service was terrible and rude they didnt listen to me at all. Ive been having problems for the past 2 years and im sick and tired.

It has been a week since I am having problem with the internet. The connection keeps on dropping. Called customer service today but the guy was like you need to buy a handset or borrow a phone from your neighbour for him to check what is wrong with the internet.WOW He did not even apologise once for the inconvenience he bluntly said it will be fixed by tomorrow and if not get a handset and call us again. Horrible customer service!!!!

Do not sign up with this company. We have had nothing more than problems with our broadband service since joining in November. Our connectivity with Sky prior to this was excellent but thought we could save money by combining our energy bills and broadband with one company. An engineer from BT Outreach has confirmed the problem is with the router and he receives numerous complaints from UW customers with the same issues as ours. The customer service team at UW have been extremely unhelpful so far. Why in 2019 have this company been allowed to get away with this. I hope the company can be investigated and save any others from the stress we have endured

Changed from Bt, we had such poor speed connection issues with them and had enough with their attitude of “if we come out and the problem is your fault we will charge you” that when we met a Utility Warehouse Distributor we were so ready to switch, we had the best package with Bt and were paying in the region of 80 quid pm now we have the the highest package from Utility Warehouse for 36.19pm to be precise. Initially the broadband and connection issues were all gone for a month, when they came back I rang UW and they detected a fault on the line (openreach maintain the network so not to do with your provider), the guy from their tech department was friendly and helpful and said that an engineer would visit to sort (no mention of if it’s our fault we have to pay

Since I have Signed to Utility Warehouse, the Broadand internet has been near enough useless. I never had any problems with Sky and wish I hadn't left them. Utility Warehouse staff try and help but it turns out they gave you a useless router when you first sign up, and you need to upgrade it for a better one for a further £50.00 at your own cost. Fibreoptic is not available in our area.

    This may take a while.
I live in a rural area, where broadband stability and speed has, until this year, been a significant issue. Nothing more than the lowest speed service available at the same cost as other areas are paying for significantly better.
I was a customer of BT for 2 years and had significant issues with the broadband service. Eventually, they advised me to ditch the telephone handset as that appeared to affect the braodband service further and, like many households today, it wasn't being used. (We live in an old cottage with thick walls.....pretty much opposite an Openreach green box).
So, having ditched the handset, nothing improved. I switched to UW to pay less for the same broadband service. And didn't replace the handset. It's definitely not the same. In fact, I am now 12 days without any Broadband connection at all. There is a recognised fault in the area, which Openreach were scheduled to fix on February. They needed to apply to close the road; I watched two Openreach vans turn up as expected and leave within an hour; no traffic lights erected for traffic management and no road dug up.
I run a small on-line business; my children require the internet to carry out homework; I have used my data allowance on my mobile wifi unit and mobile phone; I have amassed a significant bill in accessing further data.
I understand the 80/20 rules in making business decisions. And falling into that "20" is stressful. My customers expect timely responses and orders fulfilling.
Being in the "20", no one wants to take any responsibility.
Clearly there are patches of good in UW. I don't rate them at all; the rules of them paying for me to come out of my BT contract changed after I signed up to the service, so there are now actions reliant on me to carry out to get the £80. These actions were not clear or explained when I agreed to switch.
    My advice is:
Do your research before switching any service provider. And more over, if your broadband relies on Openreach, which it will unless you are a Virgin Media customer, understand the service level agreements in place in case you have a total outage.
HMRC are demanding that VAT returns are all executed digitally from April.....sadly by then, the excessive charges that I have incurred will mean that not only will I probably be bankrupt, but I'll be facing extra fines because I can't submit my VAT return.
We should all learn a lesson from BREXIT......ask questions and understand the facts. Don't be seduced by cheap because you get what you pay for. And be aware that no service for anything, from anybody, is consistent. It's impossible. Look for what's good in your area. The reviews here are massively mixed. My experience isn't great and I am more than stressed about it. Life in the 21st Century relies on broadband for the majority of the population. UW are no better placed to provide a broadband service than any other Openreach based service provider. But equally they don't have the empathy skills or alternatives to deal with customer issues.
I'm borrowing a wifi unit today. Who know what tomorrow will bring.
Benefit city here I come. It doesn't pay to be responsible for your self anymore.

Absolutely fed up to the teeth with this provider. Been with them for years, but the standard has deteriorated badly just lately, and it takes them ages to sort out any problem, specially with broadband issues. I was told 11Mbps when I signed up, I am getting about 4Mbps, upload speed is laughable, last night 3 hours to upload three photos, after which time I gave up, upload speed 0.2Mbps, can't connect my TV, playing games is a nightmare, and it keeps bombing me off whatever site I am on, not to mention the modem switching itself off when I am in the middle of something. Needless to say am now searching out an alternative. Can't come soon enough, just need to make up my mind which way to go.

Just taken on Utility Warehouse Ultra + home phone and broadband this week. I received the router within the promised five working days. It was very easy to set up and working within 10 minutes. Am getting speeds of up to 75 download and 18 upload. Signal steady and reliable. Our grandson who likes some hefty gaming is even happy with good strong levels upstairs and down. Very pleased.

I have spent months working with UW to try and correct an error they made with our Meter readings which resulted in a significant overcharge. They have had numerous opportunities to issue a correct bill but have failed. They have since cut off our mobile and broadband services and threatened to refer us to Debt collection agencies. Due to their error we are now without broadband access as we try and sort out their mess. Great when we work from home! UWs response? If you don't like it go to the Ombudsman - obviously we have! Never been treated so poorly by a Utility company before...

I have been a distributor and member with UW iv had endless problems with my broadband from day one.
My phone line just stopped working and no one knew why I had to book a BT engineer to come out on a Sat (due to me working Mon - Friday) I waited in all day on a Saturday 5 times and no engineers turned up I complained it fell on deaf ears. Eventually an Engineer came out on a sat and said they don’t always have engineers working only if they are doing overtime yet UW kept booking a Sat appointments for me. Eventually a new phone line had to be installed for the broadband and it worked only to keep dropping and not working every time it rained or windy weather it would drop.
I spent days and days on the phone with customer services they blamed everything from my PC to my home walls. We spent £400 on a new PC in 2017!hoping it would fix the problem IT DIDNT. We have finally had enough as no on in the family can use the WiFi on phones laptops or gamess concoles we have been very patience with UW which got
us nowhere. Finally this week we changed broadband to EE
the download speed went from 3 mbps with UW to 27mbps with EE. If you want to keep your sanity do NOT use UW

One of the worst broadband provider I have ever used. Slow speeds, the WiFi connection drops extremely significantly to the point playing a game is a big no & literally lags to load low quality (144p) videos. I literally pay to sit around waiting, for a not even a decent enough speed for the best broadband package they provide to actually do my work, maybe play a game with my friends or even browse the internet.

Embarrassing Utility Warehouse, I recommend you stay away. Also the fact they have their “ties with TalkTalk” eeesh

Also due to these sales from their agents or “partner scheme” whatever they call it, achieving customer support/ actual helpful assistance or a refund for their crap service is nearly if not impossible. Then to be stuck in a 18month contract with them! To leave you’re trapped charged with all these hidden fees they fail to announce upon purchasing. Really stay away, there are way better deals & providers out there. Virgin is good, EE is getting better, even BT provided a better service.

The only good point about the broadband is the router is thick and weighty - so you can use it to bludgeon the rep that sold you this disgrace.

The broadband, should you manage a connection, is slow. Painfully slow. Possibly contravenes the Geneva Conventions slow. Not to mention it will drop out continuously.

We have now gone through 3 routers (sadly, not through burgeoning) and no significant improvement to connect has occurred. If you are thinking of going with this company, try setting up a brick and connecting to that; it will have the same effect, while also being cheaper and easier to leave in the long run.

main reason is poor broadband speed and signals- terrible. I am lucky to cancel within cooling off period without extra charges. Customer services were ok but unable to resolve the issue

I have been a customer of Utility Warehouse since 2013. Since that time I have been genuinely delighted with their customer service, and offers. As I live in a very rural area, my Broadband service is very slow and nothing any Broadband service can alter that until new lines are installed. I'm told that there is no plans for that in the near future however. I have been offered help from Utility Warehouse as I am a pensioner with costs and meter readings etc. Now I have received a smart meter so no more readings are required. I have had all my light bulbs changed for LED bulbs free and the offer of a 'new' for 'old' bulbs' if or when a bulb goes. Recently I did have a problem with my broadband but I phoned customer service who solved the problem immediately and the agent told me how to do this myself if it ever happened again. I can honestly say that I am delighted with all sections of their service. The bills are so easy to read, the costs are low due to me being a 'GOLD' customer (I have phones, gas, electricity etc from the same firm) and everything I spend at certain shops gives a discount which is taken off my bill. However, there is one minor downside (which I have found with EVERY energy company I have ever been with) - when I phone Customer Services, the wait can be far too long. The phone call is free but my time is precious. Other than that, I have found this is the best Energy company I have ever experienced for prompt, efficient service, There has never been any cause for the smallest of complaint. (I hope I don't have to eat my words if the prices escalate!)
