Do not get involved with EE or Orange, not only is their customer service dreadful, the whole company ethos seems to be about trickery and broken promises rather than providing a service worth paying for, save yourself a lot of trouble and go somewhere else.

Broadband is a complete disaster . Drops out after any phone call comes in, regularly loses it's router settings, is incredibly slow during the day, communication with team in India ( despite v English names) is desperate and in summary, keep clear , I'm looking for alternatives now as the system is rubbish and there is no alternative to resolve the oh so very many frustrating issues
I am amazed the service is so incredibly poor for such a major provider

Been with Freeserve/Wanadoo/Orange for years. After a storm, my broadband dropped from about 2 to 0.2 Mbs. Phoned EE, they sent a BT lineman who could not fix it. It took me 2.5 week to get a BT broadband engineer. When he called, he said there was a fault in their wiring. Every day for a week, EE called asking me to turn off/on/reconnect/look at router config. They would not believe what BT said, and told me that there was a fault on my extension. I DON'T HAVE AN EXTENSION. I'm off to BT with a still faulty line. At least they won't have EE trying to cancel the call.

I moved from Talk Talk which was a dreadful service to EE having been an Orange mobile customer for years. The Irish service team are friendly and helpful up to their limitations but despite having been assured they didn't have an Indian service support centre, guess what? They do and it's bloody useless. My main issue is that their landline 1571 does not allow me to personalise an outgoing answerphone message. I deal with clients who expect confidentiality so if they have to leave a message, they want to know that it's me they are leaving it with, not some generic woman's voice used by anyone. I would normally set up an outgoing message saying "Hi, it's *****, please leave a message or call my mobile the number of which is******". Impossible! Furious! I have e mailed them and told them I intend to break my contract if they cannot provide this basic facility. I also told them to call my mobile - at least they will know it's me because it has a personalised outgoing message on voicemail.

Completely appalling - DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THEIR SERVICES
We signed up for the EE Broadband in November 2012, and have NEVER had the service. For the first couple of months customer services kept telling us it was due to a 'tag on the line'. I couldn't get a decent explanation of what this actually was, but kept being assured that it would be sorted in "the next few days". Every time we rang we were on hold for at least 15 minutes before anyone answered, even at 10 o'clock at night. Eventually I spoke to someone in the technical team, who was very apologetic and gave us Feb and March free (as we had been charged for December and January but obviously had not received any service). We were told that the broadband would be working within 7 days. It never happened. Several times we rang to try and sort but after 10 minutes on hold each time we got too frustrated and gave up. We did have a courtesy call at one point, where my partner expressed his frustration at never having had any sort of service - we were told the tag had been taken off and the service should now be working, they would call us back tomorrow after looking into it. Obviously this never happened.
In the end we decided to just let the contract run out (rather than paying cancellation fees and banging our heads against brick walls trying to speak to someone in the evening). However, after our 12 months was up and we thought we were free, we received an email from them a month or so later notifying us of changes to our service - they had re-signed us up!!!!!
Today my partner cancelled all payments to them and spoke to someone in customer services who told him we would have to pay cancellation fees..!
An absolutely awful experience from start to finish, it's a shame I couldn't select 0 stars on this review instead of 1.
