We changed to UW a 3 months ago from Virgin. There is no comparison. UW broadband is much more stable with lower ping rate.I can't understand the bad reviews. We have there mid range router as we stream and game a lot. So much better than virgin which was fast when it worked but would drop out to nothing several times an hour.

I am today 5-2-20, moving to Octopus for Gas and Electrics and Zen for broadband and phone. Trusted the ‘club’ for years with my bills as they promised to consistently keep their prices low. I found out I can save about £180 a year getting faster broadband from Zen and better service (Which recommended) and save £432 on energy from another higher rated provider, Octopus.
Now the ‘club’ wants to bill me £124 for replacing 31 lightbulbs… the email starts with "Please read this email carefully"!!!! Ignore them I will rapidly make/save that £124 back by switching. £124 for cheap LED lights of which I had to replace several that started to malfunction or just gave awful light (very high colour temperature and low CRI)
Stay away from these cowboys.
I will post this everywhere feel free to spread the news about the light bulb scam and so-called ‘we make sure we keep your bills low” utter nonsense.
THE SHORT OF IT IS – JUST DON”T GET ANYWHERE NEAR THIS COMPANY!

!!!!!DO NOT GET THIS BROADBAND IF YOU ARE LOOKING AROUND!!!!!!
Worse broadband I have ever had! Customer service blames the phone line box in my house, I know it wasn't because I was with sky for 5 years with 0 problems but I got it replaced anyway and still drop in broadband, nothing connects and when you finally get it working it drops out again! I am litterally being charged for a box to blink red all day!

Unfortunately I have to agree with many of the reviews on here. Had quite an out of date BT router/BT broadband previously, "upgraded" to the best router UW offer. Have never had problems with buffering and low connectivity before. Rely on this to work from home and now have long stretches in the day when I cannot work. Also new "state of the art" router does not get anywhere near as far into house as old "out of date" BT router. Not liking the sound of comments that it's difficult to get away from them. Want to do so ASAP, maybe should have read the smallprint...? By the way, only UW distributor who actually gave whole name on here was Karen Bailey. I'm sure quite a few of the glowing reviews on here are from people who make money out of distribution.

Still no Internet today Sunday tried to contact UW but no one there told to use the Internet. Very poor customer service being told go find out yourself we dont care and we dont know.

I was previously with TalkTalk receiving around 70mb down and 20mb up paying £25 per month. Talktalk increased my bill by £2 after the first year which at the time I was outraged by (i deeply regret this now).
I met a UW salesperson at a business event and was convinced to sign up to their services. On paper, the broadband deal was like for like to what I had with TalkTalk so I was happy to go ahead and sign up.
I work from home and occasionally use a VOIP phone for conference calls. How embarrassing for me when my VOIP phone cut out 3 times in 15 minutes due to poor connection and I had to call back into the conference a 4th time using my personal mobile.
Whilst I realise home broadband connections are not necessarily the best for VOIP, a connection quoted as having download of 65Mb should be sufficient considering it was 2pm and no other devices in my household were using the internet heavily.
Following this i started to notice other issues, my Alexa devices didn't function as well, (i'd never experienced buffering with TalkTalk) and it was noticeable if I was using a few devices at once. I live on my own in a small 2 up 2 down terraced house, so I shouldn't have connectivity issues between floors, but I started to experience them.
I've never bothered speaking with UW about the issue because their customer service is terrible in every other service I've had a problem with and as a person who works for a broadband provider I understand that their IT team can't do anything to help me, it's simply the shoddy, and very heavily contended line that I unwittingly signed up for.
I absolutely would not recommend UW for broadband. Their prices do not justify the poor quality lines they provide.
Additionally, if you are currently with UW and haven't yet got the LED lightbulbs, I would be seriously wary of getting them as this ties you in to a further 2 years of having their broadband. I have around 25 of these lightbulbs and 9 have blown in 4 months. My old lightbulbs are back in and working fine.
TalkTalk if you are reading this, please take me back.

One of the worst broadband provider I have ever used. Slow speeds, the WiFi connection drops extremely significantly to the point playing a game is a big no & literally lags to load low quality (144p) videos. I literally pay to sit around waiting, for a not even a decent enough speed for the best broadband package they provide to actually do my work, maybe play a game with my friends or even browse the internet.
Embarrassing Utility Warehouse, I recommend you stay away. Also the fact they have their “ties with TalkTalk” eeesh
Also due to these sales from their agents or “partner scheme” whatever they call it, achieving customer support/ actual helpful assistance or a refund for their crap service is nearly if not impossible. Then to be stuck in a 18month contract with them! To leave you’re trapped charged with all these hidden fees they fail to announce upon purchasing. Really stay away, there are way better deals & providers out there. Virgin is good, EE is getting better, even BT provided a better service.

I have been a Utility Warehouse customer for 9 months now. Since day one I have not been able to use my broadband without it keep dropping out every few minutes. I have contacted them to be told that the router that they use is not as good as the BT one I had before, I need to pay a £40 fee to get a better one and this would have to be another 18 month contract. I did this and the new router made no difference so I sent it back within the 14 days.I have now decided to leaved then and have been told that I need to pay £216. So not only am I paying for the worst service that I have ever had but they are going to extort money from me if I leave. There broad band is worst broadband provider I have ever been unfortunate enough to use.
DO NOT TAKE THERE BROADBAND, IT IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

Broadband just doesn’t work. Poor signal and things don’t stay connected. Customer services are polite and pleasant but unable to replace and conflicting advice given. Landline will only work when plugged directly into the wall, won’t work when plugged in via the broadband filter. Reported multiple times but no real attempt to resolve. In process of switching to BT due to the above.

So from the start the WiFi connection has been shocking slow speeds the lot. Phoned up and we ended up going for a higher per month price in order to get a better router as they stated there was nothing wrong with the connection so money spent at still as bad absoulty awful router is at the bottom of the stairs in a standard 3 bed council house and I can't get a decent connect in the half the router is in the other half of the house keeps cutting in and out all the time upstairs I don't connect at all

Unreliable broadband provider. Slow and unstable dropping connection constantly. Customer service is decent but unable to resolve issue. Due money back as speeds unable to reach minimum guarantee they provided at the start of the contract.

The only good point about the broadband is the router is thick and weighty - so you can use it to bludgeon the rep that sold you this disgrace.
The broadband, should you manage a connection, is slow. Painfully slow. Possibly contravenes the Geneva Conventions slow. Not to mention it will drop out continuously.
We have now gone through 3 routers (sadly, not through burgeoning) and no significant improvement to connect has occurred. If you are thinking of going with this company, try setting up a brick and connecting to that; it will have the same effect, while also being cheaper and easier to leave in the long run.

I have moved from talk talk to UW. Been reading all of the comments below. I cannot fault UW at all. Smooth transfer over, saving on my bills, internet great for what we need it for . All internet speeds differ this is nothing to do with the provider it's outreach as they deal with all lines and cables. Great company I can't believe what I am reading of all the issues feels like they are talking about a different company. 10 out of 10 for me and my family

Absolutely fed up to the teeth with this provider. Been with them for years, but the standard has deteriorated badly just lately, and it takes them ages to sort out any problem, specially with broadband issues. I was told 11Mbps when I signed up, I am getting about 4Mbps, upload speed is laughable, last night 3 hours to upload three photos, after which time I gave up, upload speed 0.2Mbps, can't connect my TV, playing games is a nightmare, and it keeps bombing me off whatever site I am on, not to mention the modem switching itself off when I am in the middle of something. Needless to say am now searching out an alternative. Can't come soon enough, just need to make up my mind which way to go.

The broadband is pretty appalling. I've struggled for it to work properly even when sat right next to the hub. As for any adjacent rooms well there is no luck. And I live in a small ground floor 2 bed apartment.
Ive had a done a connection scan and it always feeds back with a way below average speed check for home internet. I would just avoid the broadband all together.

Absolutely shocking company,we have been in a dispute for 7 nearly 8 weeks in regard to our broadband through UW, they have pushed us from one person to another to try to sort this appalling service out we have asked for them to cancel our broadband account and they will not, we cannot watch Netflix which i am still having to pay for, i am having to use my mobile data on my handset to access the internet in my home, they have advised me that i need boosters to support the wifi service i am NOT recieving, then asking md to send the products to them so they can reset them and they should work then, telling me the walls in my home are too thick, telling me my printer which is attached to the pc is affecting the signal, then my neibours wifi is stopping my wifi from working, any excuse but the TRUTH,we are being charged £44 a month for a product i am not recieving, ofcom it is we have been extremely patient, UTILITY WAREHOUSE, you are SHARKS, i will never recommend anyone to your services you only think of the commission you are being rewarded for selling a dreadful service.

I don't know why but twice a year the phone line gets noisy and the broadband becomes painfully slow. Sometime they send technicians from BT to fix this other times they can fix it from the street distribution boxes.
Overall the broadband connections is very slow anyway with download speed of about 8Mbps and upload speed of about 0.5Mbps. Last time I checked we were in 2017... not 2005.

I've been with uw since 2014 and considered them a good company. However our internet is truly shocking, the mobile is expensive and I've just switched our energy as even Double Gold we were paying a high price for electricity especially. I'm a former distributor and cannot recommend them to any of my customers any more.

Been there customer as home user for couple of years. I've just rang them to ask to move my services from old address to the new address, been told about £30 connection charges, £20 moving charges and new contract for 18 months - this is non acceptable ! - would accept £30 and keep current contract, when asked to cancel all the services (landline & broadband) been told about £180 cancellation fee - this is just ridiculous, this is how they rob their customers

This company are extremely good at apologising and blowing smoke off your backside but absolutely crap at sorting out any problem. I was supposed to have Broadband and phone running a month ago but OpenReach failed to connect me (beware this godawful company too!) I have spent the last 3 weeks sitting on the phone (my mobile of course) trying to get anyone at UW to listen to my complaint. All they kept doing was telling me my phone and broadband were live when they clearly weren't as I don't even have a phone line or socket yet!! When I tried to cancel, their sales team said I'd have to pay an early termination fee. Vast numbers of staff listened to me rant on and yet very few of them actually called back, actioned anything or kept me updated. Not even a non-computer generated email to keep me updated.
I have finally managed to speak to someone there called Paige in Customer Services, who has at last cancelled without charge.
Trying to phone through to the right department at UW is practically impossible and the amount of time I've been kept on hold music is unacceptable. Having read other reviews here about the poor levels of customer service I cannot say I'm surprised. My whole experience of dealing with this company as been stressful and frustrating. I'm still with a phone or broadband and now I am going to have to start over with another provider. Probably Virgin. And when I get a moment I will switch my energy from them also.

I was happy until recently. However I am now having to do regular housekeeping on my mailbox. If you are using a browser (I am on Outlook for email) you get no warning, even when the box is full, until peoples start phoning saying they have got a "mailbox full" message. As message size increases with photo attachments etc. this happens regularly. I know how to fix it (clear large inbox messages plus trash and spam, but it is a great nuisance. The mailbox size seems simply to small. I have at least one friend who has like me been using UWCLub for years who has just left because of this issue.

First class in all aspects. Polite and friendly staff if you have to phone them . All issues dealt with promptly. I've been with them for several years now and would not change. As with any other services supply company, your bills are not magically lower. It's up to the customer to watch their usage. Yes I have a smart meter and now it's easier to control usage. I think some people perhaps don't know how to make full use of a smart meter. And just in case anyone is wondering if I'm wealthy, I'm 73 and on only a state pension.

Was originally with Utility Warehouse for a 12 month contract. Issues from the start, had to fiddle around with router settings to get devices to work (never had to do this with other providers), speeds were very slow probably comparable to dial-up, and the connection would always drop. We phoned UW up to complain and they suggested we take out a Fibre package for an extra £5 a month for an extra 12 months onto the contract. We did so, but things barely improved. The speeds were better, but comparable to very poor broadband, and the connection still drops. Leaving them once the contract ends, should be end of this month. Haven’t got much hope with others saying about added charges.

Started off ok with broadband speed and it has been so slow now for a long time and the answer is always going through the same process of switching off this that and the other made no difference and we now have a speed of 0.59 which is ridiculous, never had a problem with Zen and their speed was always good. We live in a town with good speeds! Need to move now.

When the Internet went live, It all seemed fine, performed a quick speed test and It clocked in at around 18mb/s, not as fast the previous provider but It's not too bad. Fast forward a week and the connection has already dropped, sat at around 0.4/0,6 mb/s and ~160 ping for the entire weekend. started the process to switch again already, cause these issues will keep popping up, and I'm not putting up with it for 3 years. Terrible internet, DO NOT go with them. The only reason I've given customer service 3 stars is because I've never actually spoken to them.
Again, I DO NOT recommend, stay well away
