Dreadful speed. measured over several weeks and only got 3.5 mbs instead of promised 11mbs. Drops out quite often. Customer Services open a ticket when you report it but do nothing and do not reply. Absolutely dreadful. Avoid at all costs.

I am totally disappointed with this service at the time I terminated my contract, I sent the email requesting to terminate on the contract end date and received an automated response. I then went on with another service provider. Received email asking to pay £29 two weeks later and customer services said they didn’t receive the email. Therefore have to bill me till mid September. I then asked to speak to a manager and was told to send the original email again and they will produce the final bill backdating from the when I gave the notice. So the final bill would be for few days charges. Two weeks later I’m being chased again asking to pay £29 outstanding bill, once again spent my Saturday dealing with the customer service and sorted the final bill for £3 and even paid it off, I specifically told that I don’t want to receive any more phone calls and couple of hours later again I’m receiving a call asking me to pay £29. I again wasted my time trying to call and told to ignore the call, really nasty experience and I will never use this service again or recommend it to anyone.

I don't even know where to start. We previously had to upgrade as the original deal we were on was absolutely useless and so slow. We then moved house and organised to have our internet transferred over. Supposed to be an easy switch. The day it was supposed to come on and it never did. We had no internet (whilst we're all WFH) for almost two weeks. During that time, they would tell us an engineer was coming on x day, we would wait all day for them and they would never show. We would call and they would just say oh sorry, it was never guaranteed, he's coming tomorrow. That happened three times. They sent a guy who came for 5 mins and said he couldn't do anything and we would need someone else. Eventually a lovely engineer came, said that clearly the guy sent before hadn't tried even the most basic tests. He was brilliant and was the one amazing part of this. Got our internet back up and running. Then, as well as not offering a refund for the time without internet, we have now been charged for £12 worth of phonecalls despite not having a home phone (which the engineer could confirm). We told them it must have been the engineer who was testing the line and they said 'yes, we can see on our system that the calls were to our engineering department'. However, they will not remove the charges and they have told us that we need to BUY a phone to check. SO RIDICULOUS!

I’m not one to ever leave reviews neither good or bad ever as I just simply do not find the time but post office have left me with a lot of time to right this one and they do deserve it.

So I live in a student house share with my friend and the agency told us to order which Wi-Fi we want (didn’t really want Post Office anyway was just the only one with a 12 month contract). We ordered this in the middle of July OVER THE PHONE as we were told it would be approved much faster this way and that we would have it a few days earlier than we would if we did the application online. However, this hasn’t been the case. On the phone we were told that we would receive our box around July 28th-30th which we did and that the to live date would be August 5th. We were on holiday from August 1st-8th and we came back to Wi-Fi but it wasn’t the one we ordered (fibre) they gave us the standard. We received an email from them saying that the engineer couldn’t hook up the fibre broadband and that they’ve compensated us in the meantime with the basic standard which we thought was okay but they didn’t give us a reschedule date.

Only 6 days after being back on Friday the 14th the basic standard Wi-Fi stopped working so we rang up to ask what was wrong and it turns out they sent an engineer out to sort the fibre broadband out for us but instead again couldn’t and also disconnected the basic standard by mistake, we immediately asked when could somebody come and fix this as we have student needing to do work and others working from home during the global pandemic but they wouldn’t give an answer they said they would call on the 19th with an update. This was our “compensation” from them and they took it away from us and still to this day haven’t sent someone back just to reconnect one line. On the 19th they called and said they had no update so I argued with them on the phone as by this point a member of the household had lost their job due to not being able to provide their work to their boss. They rang us again later that day only then to say they can book an engineer out for 26th-28th and asked if we would prefer morning or afternoon slots and we said afternoon.

Yesterday the 20th they left us a voicemail to say they will be coming tomorrow Friday 21st (today) between 8am and 1pm which IS THE MORNING SLOT so at last minute some of us have moved our schedules around to ensure we are in as they need access to the property BUT THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! The account holder has rang up to ask what is going on and a member of the household has been sat on the sofa from 8am-1pm staring at the walls due to not being able to at least watch Netflix (we have no signal in the house so can’t even watch live TV either or go on our phones which Post Office know this) and wasted their time and rescheduled a job interview due to loosing previous job as not being able to provide work for their boss! It’s outrageous. The man on the phone has come back to say they need to reschedule for Monday yet it was them that rescheduled only late last night and haven’t even had the decency to let us know that he won’t be coming today.

Worst part of it all is that we have letters and emails saying the go live date is the 5th of August and it will also be recorded from the voice call and they are trying to lie and say that it intact isn’t until almost 2 weeks after!

Every time we have called it’s been very poor customer service, sometimes they don’t say anything probably because they know they are in the wrong and don’t know what to say.

I understand it’s a global pandemic but the way they have dealt with the situation has been extremely poor, if they dealt with it better I would have understood. They’re excuse was that we are not priority which is damn right rude to say to their PAYING customers.

Never again will I go with Postoffice nor do I recommend them to anyone especially if you are in Birmingham.

Post office broadband is a nightmare. Never ever again sign with them. The speed is even slowly like snail. Interrupting all the time, phone them to sort it out , they always said will send engineer out to help, but promise never come true, never ever got someone to fix it ,we waited at home for two days within appointment time, but it really disappointed. They have never ever come without give us any notice.

Dont be fooled, they might be the cheapest option around but that is simply because they provide no service whatsoever. I got grossly misinformed regarding my router go live date (on 3 occasions!!)and therefore missed a few days of work because of them! Not only that but apparently I am entitled to no compensation as in their eyes "it is not their fault if some of their employees read out the go live date wrong". On top of that my router had been sent to the wrong address at the start.
Please avoid, or you'll have yourself stuck in a 12 month contract with those idiots.

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM. We upgraded to their pro-broadband service on the 4th August, as our service was pretty poor on the standard and we were told that we could achieve 75mbps on their pro service. With now working from home we needed a good service. since then we get max 38mbps on a GOOD DAY and usually at unsociable hours as no one else is using it at that point. We have two computers running, an house alarm and 2 mobile phones running on it. We are supposed to get 75mbps, but becuase when the post office 'tries' the line it registers 75mbps they will not let us cancel and say we have to be WIRED to achieve good speeds. We are both working from home and so cannot be wired as our phone lin e is nowehere near anywhere we can work. Apparently we had time to change our minds before it went live on the 4th....but how did we know it would be utterly rubbish if we had no time to try it!! DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM

Okay I cannot give a broadband reliability as it is so damned slow. 0.26 down and 0.19 up. I called on behalf of my 86 yeard old Father who was supposed to get 2-4 mbps down and no guarantee for up apparently needless to say I phoned they checked the line said all is fine they suggest I make 5 speedtest in a 24 hour period. On their advised site I said after testing what is ther speed on that line. OMG after saying its fine 0.26 down 0.19 up. Well I was fuming acceptable..?
My Father has had this for 6 years paid 19.00 a month and the PO now offer 11mbits for 17.00 including landline in total he pays 29.00 a month for phone and internet. This is shameful and diabolical
total rip off please do not use this service there are many better braodbands on offer

This broadband is an absolute robbery!! They charge you £40 pounds if you move home and the internet takes 16 days to come through if you move home!! Yet they still charge you for those 16 days when you have no internet! Then when you call customer service they say you had a choice which was never explained in the first place, they keep interupting you (they are extremely rude). Plus if you are making a call about payment and you say your not making a payment they keep you on the line because of
`influx of calls´ when really that is not true because every other time I have called about payment they answered straight away!!!!
Do not join this broadband they are scammers!!

Where to begin...Firstly if you are thinking of using the Post Office for your broadband you will regret it very quickly. I do shop around and have used a variety of broadband providers but none has left me so frustrated as the Post Office.
Intermittent broadband, slow broadband, e-mails not replied to, told I would have to buy a new filter, and a customer service that is as frustrating as the slow broadband itself.
It is good to shop around for the best deals but if that leads you to the Post Office then just read the reviews...they are a fair assessment.
My advice is to completely avoid the Post Office for your broadband.

Absolutely awful!!!! Do not get the post office broadband!! We’ve been having sooo many issues since being with them and everytime a member of staff reviews it they say everything is fine when it’s clearly not. Hence why we are leaving. The slowest, most unreliable internet there is!!!!!

I've not been compelled to write many reviews but I'm left no option - the Post Office Broadband is simply awful. I joined up at the beginning of the year and have encountered problem after problem. Having to wait over six weeks for an engineer was just the beginning. I wasn't able to use any form of internet for over three months - and even though it's connected now it's so slow it's impossible to use, so I've been forced to spend hundreds on purchasing extra data on my phone so I can use a hotspot. I was promised a refund for the months where I couldn't use the broadband, but nothing has come through. I then called to cancel my contract today as it's still not working well enough to use and now have been told there's a £60 cancellation fee! I'm cancelling because the service is so useless - but have to pay for the pleasure. Please avoid using this company for your Broadband - they are terrible!

The only positive thing I can say is that customer service is fast which is a good thing because you will be using it quite often. We recently moved here from the US so we had no clue about which services were the best. We idiotically chose it because hey.. it's the Post Office right, how can we go wrong with a big company plus the shorter 12 month contract and a price was so low it almost screamed out "join us and let us abuse you"closed the deal.
An abuse us they did. First it was the signal dropping on an almost daily basis. At first I attributed it to wind and the doggie telephone line coming into our house but even on calm days it turned out to be the same. Things seemed to progressively deteriorate. Download speeds were usually consistent at about 12-14Mbs.(you only need 5Mbps to stream HD video. All these service selling you 60Mbps are a waste of money unless you are a film junkie and have ten movies running at the same time.) But the biggest issue is the upload speed which is dreadfully slow. I got 0.13Mbps on one of the speedtests. Im not a tech but latency seems to be important and has some effect on slooooow surfing. Best to avoid Post Office unless you are a masochist and you will be handsomely rewarded.

I am really disappointed about how bad is the quality of broadband. I have to keep on resetting the modem at least twice a day if i am lucky otherwise more. This of course happens always during work hours which is quite annoying specially because i work from home and is really affecting my ability to work. Promise that if i lose the job because of them they will receive a letter from my lawyer.

APPAULING. The worst provider I've ever used. Constant drops and reconnects and the slowest speeds since dial up. 300kB/S at the very most. I've upgraded my mobile to 100GB/m because 3G is that much faster that hot spotting my phone destroys this pile of rubbish.. Avoid at any cost.. Talk Talk cast off

Happy with set-up, and with the broadband itself.

Problem came at end of contract. I was emailed a month in advance (8th July) warning me the price would go up. I no longer needed the broadband so decided to cancel. The email said I needed to email support to cancel. I did so that day, and received an automated acknowledgment that they would be in touch within 5 working days. They never did.

Fast forward a month to 7th August and I received my next, higher bill. I called up for what I thought would be an easy phone call - you forgot to process my cancellation. They proceeded to then do my cancellation, but the cancellation team can only process the cancellation as at today, with a 15 day notice period thrown in so they want to bill me to 24th August (is that 15 days?). I pointed out this was pretty awful as I had cancelled a month previous. They said all they could do was cancel now, and I would have to then raise a dispute after the final bill had been sent.

I rang back to customer complaints, but was told the same, with some extra nonsense thrown in that I should have added my personal details to the email. The email made no such stipulation, and as I had forwarded the original email they had my name, account number, email and landline number anyway. Plus they had acknowledged receipt.

So I've spent 50 minutes on the phone, doing their work for them, and I will still have to monitor my account for when the money goes out and ring back and take more of my time to get money back that is mine. There seems to be no sense from them that this was their problem, that I had cancelled with more than adequate notice so I owe them no money. They seem to think it's perfectly reasonable that I will monitor my account and spend hours on the phone when this is their maladministration. I have complied with the terms of the contract, they haven't. That their systems are rigid, and they have no means to circumvent them in the event of an error is not my problem and it shouldn't fall to me to do their administration for them. I warned the first operative I would bill them for my wasted time, and I think I should, at my usual freelance rate.

I can't imagine what it must be like to deal with companies like this if you were elderly, mentally disabled, or otherwise inhibited from understanding what was going on and fighting your corner. I am from a process, compliance and IT background and I find it impossible.

I have received the cancellation email, which also threatens me that if I shut down my direct debit they will refer me to debt recovery, with the ensuing impact on my credit rating. If I end up with a bad credit rating for their incompetence I will be suing.

Nothing can prepare you for just how poor this product and service is. Even though its cheap, I didn't think it would be this bad. During the day the connection is down more than its up and I had the bad luck to change the week before I started working from home. Just terrible, avoid at all costs. I'm going back to BT halfway through my PO contract because life is too short to wrestle with these clowns.

Terrible! From day 1, the WiFi connection didn’t work. I live in a small house so it was very bizarre that it only reached 2 rooms- the living room and 1 bedroom. Every time I called up, they told me they’d changed something and it should now work. It never did. I called them countless times and they never sorted it. Whatever you do, do not use this WiFi, pay a little more money and go somewhere reputable.

The worst broadband ever. Disconnects every 10 mins. Had engineer out 1 said its fine next one found loads of faults and said it needed a new line 3rd one attends and says its all fine again. Total bollox It's been down all the time. I pay for fibre and meant to be superfast but the most I get is 2mbs if it works at all. Can't wait to leave this contract. AVOID!

As others have found broadband cuts out several times a day. Also quality of phone line is poor, very crackly and sometimes cuts out mid call or caller cannot hear us. Had reported faults 3 times since changing to fibre. Am told by customer services that their line check shows we have a fault but after engineer visits we are told no fault found. Told it's electrical interference from neighbours!!! Can't wait for end of
    contract.

I had them for about 6 months. For the first couple of months everything went well, then problems started. The modem keeps on disconnecting at least a couple of times p/day, of course always when i need broadband because since covid19 I have been working from home. I also live 100m away from the outside exchange and the signal is also very slow and there is no excuse because i am alone and nobody else has access to the modem. I am waiting to get to the end of my contract so i can change it. Never again with them. The worst broadband ever

Utterly Hopeless. customer service can take up to 5 weeks to respond. There is no live customer service it is only email. If you lose your password they POST it to you!!!!!
They do not respond at all and there is no online account management. If you want to pay your bill you have to phone them. Archaic and outdated service. Avoid at all costs

NOT RECOMMENDED...Have just about finished the year I signed up for, can’t wait to leave, it completelycuts out a lot, daily a few times for several minutes, the advisors seem to think this is usual. Previously talk talk this wasn’t common. Router is their own rubbish one you can’t use yours,
I hated it as soon as I joined on a bargain deal, not worth it and should have left immediately. They told me it would improve after a couple of weeks. I spent the first months endlessly emailin* them. They kept calling me by phone eg to give me passwords etc in work hours. Made billing mistakes, not got a clue.Totally BIzarre. Website horrendous, old fashioned rubbish. Aaaarghh. Happy to leave it can’t be worse.

I only gave them 1 star because incouldn’t give them any less.
My broadband isn’t even connected yet even though it was supposed to be live 3 days ago. And now I’m being told I cant cancel because I need to give them 30 days to repair the fault.
Don’t understand how it’s possible to have a fault on something i don’t have! I’ve spoken with at least 6 different people about it and never had an consistency in their reply’s. It appears as if they make it up as they go along. I was cut off on numerous occasions and even after giving them 2 contact numbers and given assurances Thai if we got cut off then I would be called straight back, yep you guessed it I’m still waiting. I will be getting out of this contract as quickly as I can and if your considering joining the PO DON’T. I would run as far away as I could to avoid it. Bad, bad, bad,
I just wish I’d read the reviews before agreeing the years contract

This is the worst Broadband ever!!! If it wasn’t for COVID-19 I would have left them! To be honest I wish I did! I even upgraded my package and I have had nothing but issues! I have currently been left with no internet for 5 days now! Who would settle for that service no one but yet they are in no rush to fix my issue! Engineer was meant to be dealing with the issue only to call up for an update to be told to provide further times for my availability! If I didn’t call wouldn’t of known this no one called me to provide further times to add insult the dates I had to select we’re towards the end of the week meaning that I would have no internet for ONE WHOLE week ridiculous absolutely ridiculous!

When I asked to be put through to a manager I was told they would get back to me 24-48 hours can you imagine!

Whatever you do! Do not get Post Office as your internet provider!

Had post office a year now. It’s ok. I have always been able to get through to somebody quickly which is the most important thing in my opinion, so long as they are helpful, which they have been. Speed is absolutely fine. The only problem is that the internet does cut off a couple of times a day (Other reviews mentioned this and it is a consistent thing). But it does come back on automatically after a few minutes. If I was younger I would probably be very dissatisfied however I have been with many providers and name me one which doesn’t have a similar problem! If you need it to be reliable then this probably isn’t the best but I have no idea who’d be better; cutting off a couple times beats terrible speeds, purposely incorrect billing and phantom customer service in my opinion.

DONT BUY. Very poor went for PO as it was cheap, as the saying goes you get what you pay for in this case you pay cheap and get a bad service. Goes off constant and service staff isn’t that great either. I wouldn’t recommend this broadband service to anyone.

1 full year of the worst possible service. Constant reliability issues and they keep sending out engineers who tel me they fixed it only for it to be the exact same. Ridiculous.

Absolutely terrible company. I have found that both OpenReach and BT are both very low level companies. They only reach the minimum level of acceptability for both customers and network service. Their staff were snappy and rude. Internet only works half the time

I have never experienced such poor broadband. My connection cuts out multiple times a day, and is slow when it is working. I have also recently had the price I pay increased, for seemingly no reason. I have emailed and called and received absolutely no help, and most of the time they do not even bother to respond.

Absolutely awful broadband, and awful customer service.
