Only signed up with you on Friday 29th March, it was agreed that I would start on 6 April only. I did not agree to change my phone line to you before that date. You have contacted plusnet to take over phone line on 11 March which I have cancelled. I agreed and want to change to you on 6th April only. Not happy with service so far.

Was quite happy when I signed up the advisor I spoke to was quite helpful...
Untill I had an unexpected payment that was taken out which left me in overdraft.
When I called to speak to an advisor about this problem, she told me I couldn't get the payment back as it was second half of the 'set up fee' wasn't told that there was a set up fee else I woudlnt of signed up and was also told that it's because they don't do credit checks.
Again on terms and conditions it states they do credit checks and that they're aren't any hidden charges.
Now awaiting to speak to a manager because nobody was available.
They was also going to listen to the initial signing up call to see what was said.
Annoyed is a bit of an understatement right now.!.

Company is poorly run, even when you do finally get through to customer service, they can't answer your questions, no clue...think its their first day. Insist on first months payment upfront, then need chasing to get the broadband actually up and running. You get a date of installation within 4 days...2 weeks and still waiting for any contact from them. They have 1 week and I will be cancelling my contract.

Really disappointed with this service. Signed up after reading mixed views, but mainly for the cheap price. We placed the original order a month ago and we still don't have wifi up and running. The initial delivery is slow, the call answer time is slow, the help chat is slow; basically impossible to sort out. Incredibly frustrating.

Our service has been disconnected without any warning or notice given. Apparently some issue with our direct debit. Had we known, or advised of this at any point we would've resolved it instantly. But no - they simply disconnected our service. Now, in order to reconnect it they say it'll be 10-14 working days, plus starting a new contract (so locking us in again for 12 months again).
We've had many issues with the internet, it goes down for hours at a time, really unreliable. Calling in mean extremely long waiting times. But we put up with it thinking all providers are pretty much the same. But now this - simply disconnecting us without notice. It's a breach of their own T&C. I could fight them on this but to what end? They've already disconnected us, we'll be without internet for 2 weeks now. Customer service dealing with this has been appalling, lousy attitude, incompetent representatives. Like Little Britain's 'computer says no..' type.
Will be looking for a different provider.

Signed up to these, wish I haden't, they sent modem and I can't get it to work, I am elderly, disabled and terminally Ill, I explained I couldn't set it up and required someone to call. They wouldn't, told them my health issues and why it is impossible for me to carry out the checks they wanted me to do. So I threatened to cancel, but although it says you have 14 days to cancel you don't as that 14 days starts the day you sign up and they don't send the thing out for 14 days, so your 14 day cancellation period is over before its delivered, dreadfull company, don't go near them, it may be cheap but it doesn't work and they don't want send an engineer out. It's disgusting treating elderly disabled this way they should be ashamed of themselves, not to mention terminally Ill people, we have enough to worry about with our illness without that. It's made me really Ill, I hope they have a terminal illness see how they feel.

Absolutely diabolical - Thankfully I'm 14 months into my 18 month contract so I don't have that long until I can leave this dismal company.
I signed up for £20/month 37mb/s fiber deal and I often have speeds of less than 4mb/s (currently 1.30mb/s download). I live in Sheffield about 2 miles from the centre so its not as if I'm in a rural location.
I have complained often at the start of my contract and jumped through all the hoops only to have a continued poor & interupted service.
The call centre folk are polite enough but they can only do very little to help until they have ticked every box on their question sheet and then maybe, just maybe your call will get raised with 3rd line support. You will then have to spend another hour on the phone trying to diagnose the fault and this can only be done during the day because any evening support has no clue whats going on.
Fair play to anyone who manages to get what they're paying for as on paper it sounds ridiculously cheap. It's just my reality is very far from the figures promised.

I have switched to Origin (never heard of them before) on the 7th of Nov from a well known provider. Great customer service, home broadband speed better than ever and better than the speed they guaranteed. Also a much better price. No interruptions at all either. So far I am very happy

I was promised 11mbps for £17.99 a month which was ok for a single guy thats two months now highest its been is 6mbps today was 4.28mbps. I feel duped and silly but what can i do its depressing as they said its within their estimates so can't raise slow connection issues. Avoid You will be lied to lots of drops in service too.

4 years and still wouldn't consider leaving Origin. We did buy a new router but my tech geek partner would probably do that with any company and this one is so cheap each month so it wasn't a problem. No one's house I visit has such a stable line as mine and no one has as much connected to their internet!

I've read all the bad reviews but thought I should chine in to say we've been with them for a month now and everything is absolutely fine.
Switched from Plus.net paying £38.99 a month but now getting the EXACT same service from Origin for only £26.99.
No complaints, really happy with everything really.

Ok... So I left virgin due to high prices and foreign call centres. I thought ill compare and see what comes up. Origin hit top of the list. They stated I could take my number with me from virgin and that they would guarantee me a min 30mbps in speeds. Lies lies lies.lessthan 10mbps they didn't bother chasing my number. And these recon they supply the NHS, don't listen to it.after 2months of hell I'm getting a refund and free out of my contract. Call recording saved me. Staff are good company is worse than old talk talk. STAY AWAY!!!!!

There's nothing I can say that hasn't already been said in previous reviews, avoid this company at all costs! I was a customer for several years and they seemed to get worse every year. Slow speeds, regular dropouts and poor customer service.
Customer service is no longer 24/7 and waits of between 45 and 60 minutes on the phone are normal. They seem to have no way to escalate technical problems, and just fob you off, asking you to reset your router etc. I ended up paying over £100 in early termination fees to get away from them. When I left, the day my connection switched to BT my speeds jumped from 0.5Mbps to 37Mbps, so the issue with my speeds was obviously to do with their poor network.
After I left they also removed my negative review from Trustpilot stating that I wasn't a genuine customer. So take star ratings on other review websites with a big pinch of salt!

When I tether from my phone to my laptop is 6-10 times faster!!! I'm reading the contract now to cancel this and it says you can cancel one day before you go life.. where is the point??? you don't even see the product and how it works! THEY PROMISED 18MBS AND I AM HAVING 10MBS OR MUCH LESS.... I HAVE CALLED THEM AND THEY SAID UP TO 14 MBS, BUT IT NEVER WENT UP MORE THAN 10MBS !!!! DON'T DO MY MISTAKE AND READ THE COMMENTS PLEASE!

I'd give this joke of a company 0 if I could! September I joined and it was the biggest mistake ever!! They stole carers allowance on the 18th of nov, promised to return it on the 19th, didn't happen, I called 7 days later and again promised to refund with immediate payment, didn't happen, called again and was told it had been done on the 26th and would be with me in 3 days! Called to check today and have been told it was done yesterday (27/11/19) and its gonna take 3/5 days!! When the managers are the biggest liars the customers have no hope!! I will be leaving and they can take me to court for the £404:85 they want for early cancellation!! Absolute jokers

I’ve been with Origin for 3 years now. I love the fact their call centre is in Doncaster and is manned by really nice people. What really lets the service down though is that to resolve issues, you need to hardwire link to the router. We’re all Apple at home and my work laptop can’t be hardwire linked. I’m not hugely IT literate so unless one of my teenagers is home, I’m stranded.
I really hope Origin get their act together because I will always support UK based and manned companies.

2 weeks after having it installed my Virgin internet is on its last day and I still haven't had a single successful internet connection with origin.
There customer service department close at 6 on weekdays so you can not get assistance after work. If you phone during work they will tell you that you need to be at the internet connection for them to assist. The package comes with instructions for the default modem but having been sold an upgrade - the instructions do not work for the ASUS AC55u. I also can not speak to anyone on live chat. The automated message says there will be delays because of flooding however they haven't contacted me back a singe time or even given me any evidence anyone is even in the office. So alas another hour will be spent waiting to speak to customer services without ever actually being able to access the internet. AVOID.
The engineer set up the phone line but as he said the modem was "plug and play" didn't set it up even on request. Genuinely bottom tier

I've been with Origin for 7 wks, mads 2 payments and received £10 back because I'm not online yet. I'm connected but get I access to the net. I've been thru the modem setup with them 3 times but still no access. I'm losing the will to live. I'll call them once more and give them 2 days to fix it. If they do t I'll block them at the bank and they can take their modem back. I'd advise others not to go near them.

I have been with Origin for nearly 3 months and still do not have any wifi service. A phone call takes forever to be answered and then an engineer is promised to be sent to inspect the premises which never happens.

I've been with this company for two years and have been very disappointed with their services.
Modem keeps cutting off two to three times a day.
I gave them 30 days notice that I didn't want their services any more, and that I didn't want them to take the up front fee for another year that they were requesting.
I was assured that this wouldn't happen.
To my surprise they cut me off after 10 days! I called them about it and was told it was an error on their behalf and that it would take 14 days to re connect and that I needed to renew my contract with them!!
In addition to this, they had the audacity to go ahead and take the renewal fee for £193.23 from my bank account twice!
I had to call my bank to get the money refunded.
I have requested that they release my phone number for the new supplier who will request my phone number. The new supplier can't start their services for another 20 days.
I've been left with no phone or internet, that I had paid for up front thanks to them. I'm sure they did this on purpose for leaving them. I've read other similar posts by others.
I have made a formal complaint to them. I was told someone was going to contact me to try and resolve the issue. Still waiting after five days!

Absolutely terrible connection drops constantly, origin tell me there's nothing wrong and if they send an engineer out and the fault lies with me (doubt it, I've never had trouble before)then they will charge me £108 or if I'm not in they will charge me same amount..I told them I'm not paying for a service I don't receive and cancelled my dd ...This is quite funny I suppose because they cut me off the next day and it took me over 6 hours to realise

I've been with origin for almost 2 years and, from the start, the broadband service has been available all the time; no problems with that.
Customer service, however, is in need of some work. I signed up for a 12 month package and paid up front. After a couple of months - in the new year - I noticed that there was a payment from my bank account so I called up and was told there had been a mistake and it would be corrected. The following month, same again. Third month in a row, same again. Eventually, the payments stopped and a cheque for 4 months overpayments was sent to me. When my 12 months were over, I called and renewed, full payment, same as before, and in year 2 no problems either with service or extra payments.
I've just made a payment for year 3 - a bit early; payment on August 1 for a service starting in September but it's paid now so I'm not going to fight over it.
To be completely fair, the people at Origin have sorted out the problems as they arose but their process seems to be very slow. Whenever I've called, they have been polite and I don't recall it taking too long to connect.
Avoid? No - if you're patient with them, they will get things right and, to be fair, my broadband connection has never let me down.
