No customer service agents can speak English without a very strong accent and if asked to slow their speech down they hang up hence not accomplishing anything. They only want to know you if your a business.

According to BT: Option 3 (which is what I've got) claims up to 20meg. I'm getting 5.9. which by my reckoning falls well short of the claimed speed...

Demon have slowly become over priced, bad experience with their Indian Call Centre and reliability not worthy of the high price they charge.

The poor speed isn't Demon's fault - we live in the sticks and can't get superfast broadbrand yet. But the reliability of the connection has been great.

I have always found Demon to offer excellent service. They are not quite as good as in the very early days. then when one phoned with a problem they always had sombody who used your computer and was sitting there with one in front of them. Problems were solved immediately. Indian call cetres are not as good, but in the last three years (when I moved to my current house) I have only contacted them once for help. I can't remember the last outage apart from problems with the news groups about a year ago. I would unreservedly recomend them to anyone. I have been with them for over 15 years.

I can’t remember the last time I felt satisfied with this company. None of the call centre staff speak English and none of them give a damn. My connection used to be good on upgrading to ADSL2+ with the router reporting 12Mbps, and real speeds varying from 4 to 11Mbps. Then the connection became intermittent and stopped working altogether. I tried several different ADSL routers and wasted loadsamoney on a new one. I suspect equipment change/failure at their end, or perhaps a problem with my BT line, which they denied. They then dropped my bandwidth to 6Mbps in order to “improve stability” and then throttled it to death, so that real bandwidth is between 200kbps and 1.1Mbps, and it’s still intermittent! This dizzy speed of 1.1Mbps is only there for short periods. Even small downloads seem to take forever now.
The main problem is that Demon don’t listen, and they take weeks to reply to emails. I have spent hours waiting for online-chat with a technical representative who never showed up, and have spent a small fortune on phone calls.
Demon are diabolically expensive, but at least they got the company name right!

My bandwidth is what one might expect at the end of 300km of wet string in the middle of the Thar Desert!

I have demanded a MAC key, and will be moving to a different company ASAP!

Picked Demon as they've been in the game for more years than most. The network is great/stable but wow how bad has the customer service in this company become. Agree with others on here, the phone operators are so poor at English you can barely have a conversation. Expect literally hours of painstaking scripted hassle if anything goes wrong. Oh unless you are buying it when you get to speak to nice scottish lady!! lol. Seriously what has become of you Demon?

We have had Demon broadband for a number of years now and with four users on the premises all sharing the internet at once this service is excellent. I can't remember the last time the service was off and have therefore not needed to call the support team.
